Here’s a few questions I have about this new announcement from Trump. 1. Russian has had to lower the specs on their fuel to increase demand. Can we even use their diesel? 2. The US doesn’t lack refining capacity, this decree would bypass them and hurt domestic refining, which will piss them off.

The Central Bank expects September data to confirm that the low point of Russia's GDP growth rate is behind us.

Moscow, October 9. INTERFAX.RU - Preliminary data for September indicate an acceleration in economic growth in the third quarter compared to the first half of the year, said Bank of Russia Deputy Chairman Alexei Zabotkin.

"If the 'hard' data for September doesn't present any major surprises, then we can conclude that economic growth rates have passed their nadir in the first half of 2026. From there, they will gradually increase—to the extent that production capacity expands and productivity increases," the Central Bank said in a commentary, citing Zabotkin.

Rosstat will publish data for September and the full third quarter of 2026 at the end of October. "The statistics already available allow us to conclude that growth accelerated in the third quarter compared to the first half of the year," the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank emphasized.
