I still appreciate history for its wins, its aesthetics, and still appreciate the cultural points (in fact, even more so lately given the rise of AI and a worsening internet). I also think pre-WW2 urban life seemed fascinating compared to what we got afterwards (and especially after the 60's).

Early Gen Z here, agree! Literally my earliest gaming memories were getting PC games this way! The boxes some of them came in made them feel so much more special! You could even get them at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, of all places. Also a great way of accessing older games, especially on our XP!

Getting off topic: I also still adore the artistic integrity a lot of packaging was back then. Also great examples of what we can do in regards to plastic-free packaging, and we don’t even need to create a magical new material/design for it!

I’ve got a few Pep comic pins from around the same time! I’ve always loved just how mechanical, odd and unique a lot of toys were pre-70’s, even cereal toys. Those pull string talking dolls from the 60’s had literal mini record players, not even needing batteries!
