If you look carefully at the artwork for my latest single, Milk White Teeth, there's some cool stuff hidden within 'Dancing Lady #5' by Alicia Davis. I really like the Octopus, Sea Turtle and Fish combo. And the Butterfly and Heart. #newmusic #newart #artist #artwork

Day 18: Learning to draw. I’m back copying pages from @2000ad.bsky.social . Packed away all last year’s progs and they’re in a box in the fairly inaccessible attic so if anyone knows the original artists let me know!!! (Because obviously you ALL READ 2000AD! 😀 - And if not, WHY NOT???!!!)

Day 17: Learning to draw. Convinced my partner to pose for a portrait. I’ve made yher look pretty stern and Victorian. However, this is probably the first pic from the book's lessons that feels like, 'okay, now I can do it to a high(ish) level.' I love this book. #art #dailysketch #drawing

Day 16: Learning to draw. Finally gone back to the drawing book. And it makes a big difference. Doing some self-portraits. Pic 1: I think I might be a zombie or a ghost. Pic 2: What the f@ck has happened to my chin!!!??? #art #dailydrawing #learningtodraw #portraits

Day 14/15: Haven’t had much time last few days but managed to knock this out. Apparently I’m now drawing my own ‘comics ‘- or more accurately, drawing the first nonsense that comes into my head. Fun though. (Should really get back to the drawing book) #art #dailysketch #dailydrawing

Day 11: Learning to draw. Still copying pics from comics and having a great time. 1st page from This One Summer by Jillian and Mariko Tamaki. 2nd page from Love & Rockets by Jaime Hernandez, (top left pic from Impending Blindness of Billie Scott by Zoe Thorogood.) #sketching #art #comics

Day 10: Learning to draw. Totally addicted to copying pages out of comics. I should get back to the drawing book, but until then, more from Saga. #saga #art #comics #fionastaples #dailysketch #dailydrawing

Day 9: learning to draw. I’VE GONE OFF-PISTE!!! I’ve temporarily abandoned the book and started drawing pages out of a comic called Saga because I'm impatient. This is great fun. (Original art is by the amazing Fiona Staples) #art #dailydrawing #dailysketch #comics #saga

Day 8: Learning to draw: Faces are HARD! This was a challenge - yet it looks simple. It made me throw the sketch pad across the room! Now I know why Van Gogh cut his ear off!!! (NOTE TO SELF: Throwing a sketch pad and cutting an ear off are not in the same ballpark) #art #dailydrawing #sketch

Day 7: Learning to draw: Kid on a chair, then our living room full of plants, and our hallway. Find myself really enjoying drawing the ‘mundane’ background stuff and getting lost in detail. (Which is weird, as anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m not good with details!) #art #dailydrawing

Day 6: Learning to draw: Chairs plus a Picasso sketch copy. Not the most exciting, but you’ve gotta do the grunt work. I would avoid sitting on these chairs. They look like they defy physics and 3D space! (I’M COMING FOR YOU, ESCHER!!!) #art #dailydrawing #sketching

Day 5: Learning to draw: Book asks you to draw a couple of pictures upside down. And weirdly, if they’re upside down, then it’s much easier to draw them well. Which means I’ve drawn a Picasso and a Ditko. Which must mean I’m as good as those guys!!!!???? (well, maybe not) 😂 #art #drawing

Day 4: Learning to draw. Via the magic of the book, I can now apparently draw my own hand with varying levels of proficiency. I’m amazed at how good this book is. You should all try it (unless you can already draw - in which case, ignore me) #sketching #drawing #dailydrawing #art

Day 3: learning to draw. I drew my hand and microphone without looking at the paper. I found it a strangely liberating and psychedelic experience. Weird thing is… this is what my hand and my mic ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE!!!! #art #drawing #dailydrawing #sketching

Day 1: Learning to draw. Pic of my dad and self-portrait. The idea is that Future Kev will look back on these and think..."Ha! You cretin! Is that the best you could do???” #art #dailydrawing #sketching

Used this book last year in an effort to learn how to draw. The whole process has been fascinating and liberating. Posting my drawings as they happened. #drawing #art #drawingontherightsideofthebrain #bettyedwards
