Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 15/04/2025Well said, Bernie. This team is a blast to watch. The at bats are solid more times then not, and they have a great mix of speed and pop. Walker has really turned himself into an outfielder too, and Victor looks comfy at the plate. They could win a good chunk of games if the pitching will let them 100
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 14/02/2025Knowing how competitive Nolan is, the fact that nobody wanted him enough has to fire him up. Hoping he has a strong first half to maximize value at the deadline. Also, I’m disappointed there wasn’t much effort to deal Helsley…maybe thinking they can get more for him at the deadline if he holds up? 100
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 23/01/2025Thought some folks here would be interested in seeing this - a series of correspondence between Branch Rickey and St. Petersburg Fl officials to arrange spring training games for the 1930 season. One has an authenticated Rickey autograph, which is the cherry on top of this amazing piece of history. 241
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Thanks! Kicked off a project to get an on card auto for each cardinals team HOF without duplicating a release. Happy to have this one taking the 33 Goudey spot! 120

Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 02/01/2025Love this piece - framed Big Six Christy Mathewson board game from 1922 0140
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 31/12/2024Incredible collection! How did you pick the prewar rookies? Most of those guys have earlier issues - Cy young’s t205 for instance was one of his last playing days cards. 110

Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 27/12/2024His chances at the basketball hall of fame are about the same though! 000
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 26/12/2024Granted I’m a small hall guy, but I just don’t see an angle for him. Short peak and a short career 110
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 22/12/2024Why is Musial here? He had significantly more innings at both LF and 1B then in right. 210
Reposted by KevloWade @51wad.bsky.social · 21/12/2024It's not often you get to add a vintage piece of Josh Gibson to your collection and I can't help but share it on his birthday. Although this is a later reprint (type 4) from 1972, I'm extremely happy since it is almost a zero percent chance I obtain a photo from his playing days. 171
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 16/12/2024I’m happy to give Army the benefit of the doubt because he has earned it, and Fowler may improve with a change of scenery - but acquiring the NHL’s worst player in expected goal differential is a bold strategy for continuing to give up fewer goals. He’s at best a huge defensive liability. 100
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 16/12/2024I say any criteria that has Cole Hamels as a HOFer needs to be reconsidered 😀 000
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 16/12/2024Type 1 photo featuring Mike Shannon, Bob Gibson, Tim McCarver, and Orlando Cepeda - shot taken just as the cardinals infield raced to congratulate Gibby following the final out of the first game of the 1968 World Series (which was his WS record 17th strikeout of the game). 030
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Crossed two big ones (one literally big) off my long term want list today! A bit surreal honestly. 030
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 13/12/2024Love this shot of Hornsby taken by the great Charles Conlon. 030
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 13/12/2024My line is all about gut feel when considering all factors, so not scientific at all. I’ve gone through nerd spells where I try to make a scientific line/measurement but I think it’s too nuanced to have a number. That said - I am small hall guy, and could easily trim the hall in half 😀 020
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 13/12/2024Haha fair enough! In the same vein, there are plenty of high school yearbook photographers that could have pulled off the 70 Catfish 😉 020
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 12/12/2024Those 1 photo of the great bambino - love everything about this one. 1101
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 12/12/2024Agree with this 100%. Most postwar cards that use photography are mailed in - typically just very basic, staged photos. Baseball photography is my first love, but most efforts to use it on cards lack effort and quality, outside of 53 Bowman. 60s and 70s Topps are the worst offenders 220
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 09/12/2024Very surprised about Parker honestly. I thought he and Garvey were the two least deserving of the 8 candidates. Long overdue for Allen though. 020
Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 03/12/2024I disagree, I think the hysteria is fair. No rule changes have come close to altering the fundamental core of the game like this would. This would be the breaking point for me that would push me away from being a regular fan 020

Kevlo @kevlo17.bsky.social · 02/12/2024A lost art in today’s game is the ability for hitters to change their approach with 2 strikes and…you know…not strike out. In MLB history, only 11 players have >1000 XBH’s while having more XBH’s than K’s. For comparison, Aaron Judge has 493 XBH’s and 1,209 K’s in his career to date (woof) 000
