It's been awhile since I've put this out there but I did a deep dive video awhile back on trying to date this Satchel Paige image. Its one of my favorite pieces so I really dove into this portion of Satch's career. Please enjoy! youtu.be/Kd1TTDHJZz4?...

The perfect playing days Satch card and price point eluded me until this beautiful copy popped up. I think this will be the only card I buy in 2025. Yes, it's January but I don’t feel like I need anything else. Maybe that changes in 6 months but for now, this card is enough for a good long time.

On this day in 1972, Roberto Clemente tragically passed away while attempting to fly aid packages to Managua. He was 38. Here’s my painting of him stretching his neck and taking in the sun after a postseason double on October 9, 1972, a little over a week after collecting hit number 3,000.

It's not often you get to add a vintage piece of Josh Gibson to your collection and I can't help but share it on his birthday. Although this is a later reprint (type 4) from 1972, I'm extremely happy since it is almost a zero percent chance I obtain a photo from his playing days.

I wrote this back in 2011. A post today about triples, over on the site whose name is X, gave rise to my reply, which entailed a rereading of this story. Pretty good, imho. ourgame.mlblogs.com/where-triple...

Happy Birthday Larry Doby! Here is my wirephoto of the MLB pioneer from when he was signed from the Newark Eagles to the Cleveland Indians in 1947. Integrating the AL took a terrible toll on Doby. On his birthday let us not forget what a brave man he was in this act and in his service during WWII.

Willie Mays was there at the beginning of Roberto Clemente's baseball journey, sharing the PRWL field the year before Clemente broke into the MLB. He was also there for his biggest baseball feat. He crossed the field as a friend and as the last 3,000 hit club member to welcome the newest.

Second time getting this Jackie snapshot in the mail. I accidentally shipped it with a different Jackie snapshot I sold 😬 The buyer is thankfully a great person though and quickly shipped it back to me. They could have had a 2 for 1. Thankfully there are plenty of collectors who do the right thing!
