Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Crazy idea, let’s have the good umpires work the playoffs 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 14/10/2026With the first pitch of Game 2 around the corner, the Guardians (up 1-0 in their series) have a lower World Series win probability than the Dodgers (down 0-2 in theirs) 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Rays really make you miss that White Sox corner outfield defense 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026How many pitches did y’all think Cade Smith was gonna throw if he came on in the 5th inning? 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Striking out on four pitches is actually an above average plate appearance against Cade Smith these days 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Not a fan of this one, now you’re on the verge of Gaddis facing Murakami with two on 100
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026To the same set of points, who do you use next? Probably try to ride Sabrowski? Does that feel good? 100
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Outfield defense gotta be high on the White Sox offseason shopping list 200
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026It was the 5th inning! Espino and Sabrowski self-immolated last time out, Williams between starts is an emergency thing, and Smith, again, it was the fifth inning! Y’all begging for Matt Festa? Hunter Gaddis? 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Every pitcher coming up small today except… Shawn Armstrong? Makes it tough, man 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Bibee a reasonable move, look at that pen, Andrew Miller’s not walking through that door 010
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Appreciate the Rays for getting tonight’s Guards game shifted past bedtime 010
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Say what you want about the tenets of William Contreras, dude, at least he’s an ethos - A.J. Pierzynski, basically 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Crazy to prefer Petey Halpin to three wild swings from Martinez? 100
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I don’t know who tf Ryan Feltner is, but he is doing the Lord’s work out there 120
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 24/09/2026In the spirit of this discussion, I think there’s added signal here on: -LLM exposure meaning something to labor demanders -evolution of job ad language alongside rising adoption -seeing modest aggregate/more substantial early career labor market weakness again x.com/alexolegimas...x.comAlex Imas (@alexolegimas) on XA few (personal) thoughts on reading empirical AI papers on the economy. Economists have gotten used to reading papers with super clean identification, arguing about the validity of an instrument, m... 010
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 24/09/2026This is a short paper, so there’s lots of good stuff in the appendix, too, check it all out! 100
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 24/09/2026On the worker side, more exposed occs have seen increased outflows, increased inflows, imprecisely higher wages of new hires consistent with increased posted wages, declining wage among incumbents, and higher U/V, consistent with these labor markets becoming somewhat less tight. 120
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Firms mention AI in job ads more than they used to, but the big increase came in later 2024 and was pretty generic and not that persistent. AI mentions come in more LLM-exposed occs. Alongside this shift, the quantity of ads posted has been roughly stable and posted wages are up. 121
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I know we’re focused on looming AI-driven extinction now, but can you spare a thought for what’s going on with labor demand? I have a new paper about that doi.org/10.26509/frb... 1128
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Come be my colleague! Cleveland Fed is hiring a research economist. Applied micro especially encouraged (by me) to apply: econjobmarket.org/positions/12...econjobmarket.orgEJM - Econ Job Market 0107
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Just in terms of roster construction, Petey Halpin batting here isn’t quite as bad as Michael Martinez batting in the 10th inning of a World Series Game 7, but it’s also not a lot better. 010
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Fortunately there’s still a month and a half of baseball, and by the time it’s over, basketball will have started 010
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Also, it’s September, you don’t need to give him a chance to work through it! 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Don’t need to see any more Aleman this season, I’m all set 100
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Rocchio is also bad at bunting, don’t get any ideas 000
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 12/09/2026If you insist on bunting, it can’t be David Fry, do you watch your own team?! 001
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Having David Fry bunt under any circumstances is malpractice! He’s terrible at it! How could you possibly think that was a good idea?! 110
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Don’t see how you can keep starting Joey Cantillo, except that you also can’t start Logan Allen. So, congrats Slade Cecconi, I guess 011
Kevin Rinz @kevinrinz.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Joined EALE to save a bit on submitting to Labour Economics, which involves emailing an Elsevier inbox to get a code to enter instead of paying the submission fee, which is kind of a silly mechanism, and also no one seems to be monitoring the inbox? Anyone else have this experience? 000
