This is an incredible discussion that covers so much ground and gives me so much to think about. Can’t wait to read the rouse and will be going into the backlog of this pod for lots more

I went to soil health school on a small Minnesota farm about two months ago, and came back with this deep dive into whether we can farm in a better way that helps (rather than depletes) the planet www.consumerreports.org/health/what-...

Final is hard to call. Spain looked so in control against France, and Argentina might have a bit of a letdown after that emotional game. Buuut Arg and Messi impossible to count out. Still going Spain, but gonna be good!

Belgium outplayed us completely. I do think we would have played way better without the cursed vibes from the whole external influence controversy (which also fired Belgium up). Sounds like Balo a class act throughout. Ah well! Lots of good games still to see.

I know this is a lot of words in a screenshot but I think it's important to read them bc cutting funding for pediatric cancer research is ghastly (worth reading the whole piece: www.nytimes.com/2026/05/13/o...)

The Post has had plenty of issues under current management, but truly bummed that my hometown paper will be losing so many great reporters covering so many important and interesting stories. Incredibly shortsighted to think that eliminating great people and coverage will lead to a better product.

Quite a read on what’s happening with cancer research. In-depth reporting by @jonathanmahler.bsky.social with a personal story at the end. Who doesn’t know someone whose life has been affected by cancer, who could have a better life if we keep research moving forward? www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/m...

This is every major problem with a flying car, and the final post sums it up perfectly: You don't want a flying car, because then OTHER PEOPLE WILL HAVE ONE AND I PROMISE THAT SUCKS.

Eliminating the independent bipartisan @cpsc.gov is a terrible idea. It would leave families at greater risk in their own homes. It would take critical data-driven safety rules (many protecting kids) & expose them to political whims. @consumerreports.org advocacy.consumerreports.org/press_releas...

Draft plans to gut the independence of the CPSC are dangerously misguided and would leave Americans at greater risk of being harmed by unsafe products…

pretty noteworthy that we're at a point where priests feel they need to request anonymity to protect the people that attend their churches when talking to the media
screenshotted text that reads "By the first week in February, life on the southwest side had entered a kind of limbo. In the days before Trump’s inauguration, several people told me, they had stockpiled food. Now the streets were quiet. School attendance was down. Attendance was down at a Catholic church that had welcomed immigrants for generations. “We are preparing for the worst,” the priest there told me; he requested anonymity to avoid drawing scrutiny to a place he was trying to keep safe."
