When Trump said he would consider deporting US citizens, he wasn’t joking. And he’s starting with American babies. If he can deport a single citizen without due process, he can do it to anyone. And if he comes for your baby, it won’t matter if you voted for him or not.

According to the Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index report, 3x as many manufacturers reported declining business as those that reported increases. Does anyone have any good reports of manufacturing firm start ups or moving to the USA because of increased tariffs?

I've been saying it for a little while now and will say it again; we don't have three branches of government right now. We have two real branches (executive and judicial) and a junior varsity branch (legislative) that is acting like it's a smol bean with no power. THAT is a constitutional crisis.

When trade barriers are removed or reduced, American companies can purchase low cost components from Chinese factories and sell (and export) finished goods at a profit. Comparative advantage works for everyone in a free market, making all participants better off. Trump broke that.

Moving a firearms production facility across the country is quite an experience. That move included a lot of inventory that was produced in China. It's going to be way more difficult to replace that inventory now that Trump has destroyed free trade in order to extort countries and businesses.

Yes. It’s a problem. I’m doing this with a whiskey on my backyard porch on a Saturday night. Total US tax collections are in the 4 trillion dollar range while the budget is north of 6 trillion. It would be more efficient to change government spending, or change the tax code rather then audit

Holy crap. The DOJ is arguing that the President can unilaterally deport anyone he wants without ANY statutory authority, just on his inherent authority as President over national security. That is a terrifying claim to make and not one that has ever been recognized before in US history.

Beyond the statute, the President’s inherent Article II authority is plainly
violated by the district court’s order. As a function of his inherent Article II authority
to protect the nation, the President may determine that TdA represents a significant
risk to the United States, that it is intertwined and advancing the interests of a foreign
government in a manner antithetical to the interests of the United States, and that its
members should be summarily removed from this country as part of that threat.
