The Vault Bank at 10 pm in BlockRise: tier 3 of the bank, dome lit, portico across two plots. The yellow band along the pavement isn't a street light, it's the ownership outline: this one is yours. Barcelona, in game. blockrisegame.com
In-game screenshot at night, seen from above at a three-quarter angle: a pale stone bank with a columned portico, a BANK sign under a red-tiled pediment, tall arched windows lit white on the ground floor, warm lit windows upstairs and a small red dome with lit openings on the roof. A yellow glowing band runs along the pavement in front. A dark truck is parked at the right corner, a brick building stands to the left, and rows of lit houses and a dark hill fill the background under a last strip of orange sky.

Tier 2 of the jewelry house in BlockRise. Tier 1 is a single storey with awnings and four display windows; tier 2 adds an upper floor with balconies. Shot at noon, after the daytime fix that lets you see inside the windows instead of flat white rectangles. In game, Barcelona.
In-game screenshot at noon: a dark green two-storey jewelry shop on a street, with a white JEWELRY sign, green awnings over large display windows showing jewelry stands inside, and small balconies on the upper floor. Pedestrians walk along the pavement; a hill and other buildings are in the background.

The jewelry house in BlockRise at tier 3, the Gem Atelier: a glazed workshop on the roof. Its first noon captures were rejected, every display window was a flat white rectangle. By day the interior glow is switched off and the glass is less mirror-like. Noon and 10 pm, in game.
In-game screenshot at noon: a dark green three-level jewelry shop on a street, a white JEWELRY sign above four arched awnings and display windows showing jewelry stands, a row of balconied windows upstairs and a glass-walled workshop on the roof. Pedestrians walk along the pavement; a blue mosaic dome and green hills are in the background. The same jewelry shop at 10 pm under a starry sky: the ground-floor display windows glow bright white, the upstairs windows are lit, the rooftop workshop glows behind its glass, and street lamps light the pavement where a few pedestrians walk past.

The Barcelona cathedral in BlockRise, from the side: 45.8 x 35 m on the ground, towers at 33 m, 37.5 m to the cross on the spire, and a cloister joined by a gallery. Around 72,000 triangles, plus two lighter versions. In game, 4 pm.
In-game screenshot from BlockRise at 4 pm, seen from above at a three-quarter angle: a sandstone Gothic cathedral with two towers, an openwork spire, a rose window and a pointed portal, and a low cloister with red tile roofs at its side. A tree-lined avenue with one car and one pedestrian runs in front, apartment blocks stand to the right, green hills rise behind under a grey sky.

The bank in BlockRise sits on two plots instead of one: 25.5 x 13.6 m, enough for a portico with columns. Tier 1 is one storey, tier 2 adds a floor, and tier 3, the Vault Bank, gets a dome on the roof. Barcelona, in game.
Three in-game views side by side of the same bank on a street in Barcelona, seen from above. Left: a one-storey cream building with columns, a pediment and a BANK sign. Middle: the same with a second floor and a balustrade. Right: the same with a small pink dome on the roof. Pedestrians on the pavement, trees, a yellow line along the kerb.

Barcelona in BlockRise has its cathedral. First time in the game, the stone came out olive-brown, the courses read as bricks and the rose window glowed almost white at night. Three passes later: neutral stone, smaller blocks, a deep portal. It faces west, so we shoot it at 4 pm.
In-game screenshot at 4 pm: a sand-coloured Gothic cathedral seen from the front across a street, with two bell towers, a central spire, a rose window and a pointed portal. Trees in front, apartment blocks on both sides, a cream car on the road, green hills behind. The same view at 10 pm under a starry sky: the rose window and the tall windows glow amber, lamps light the portal and the steps, and a few windows are lit in the neighbouring blocks.

A bakery the player owns catches fire. The fire brigade you financed drives the real street network to get there, puts it out, and the street reopens. One continuous in-game shot from BlockRise, our city tycoon set in Barcelona. Full clip on TikTok: vt.tiktok.com/ZSbbDnWwn

In Nationfall, two groups of spearmen used to merge into one pale clump. Same skirmish, before and after: whole tunics in team colour instead of a thin sash, no rings under enemies, shorter spears. Soldiers with a visible attack gesture went from 42% to 83%.
Two in-game views side by side, labelled Before and After, of the same skirmish seen from above on flat green ground. Before: about twenty soldiers in pale tunics with thin red or blue sashes, bunched together, tall spears standing above their heads, red rings on the ground under several of them, and three slingers in beige at the bottom. After: the far group wears red, the near group wears blue and carries blue round shields, there are no rings, the spears are shorter and angled, and the slingers at the bottom are in blue. A low-poly tree stands behind the group in both views.

Small thing we finally did in BlockRise: shop doors open when a customer walks in. Six buildings so far (restaurant, pub, bank, jewellery, offices, tailor). A closed door on a busy shop made the street look switched off.
A grid of twelve in-game views: six BlockRise buildings, each shown twice, door closed on the left and door open on the right. A restaurant with terrace tables and parasols, a green jewellery shop with awnings, a pub, an offices building, a bank with stone columns and steps, and a tailor. In the open-door views, customers stand at or walk through the doorway. In several closed-door views a yellow glow covers the lower part of the facade.

The BlockRise fire station has moved in: three bays, three red engines, a clock tower. For a while its windows stayed dark at night: eight imported buildings had no night lights at all. They do now, and the test district went from 42 lights to 370.
In-game view of the BlockRise fire station at midday under a clear blue sky: a pale stone building with a terracotta roof, a white FIRE STATION sign, three arched bays each holding a red fire engine, a small red car parked at the left, and a tall clock tower topped by a red flag. The same fire station at night under a starry sky: every window is lit in warm amber, wall lamps glow around the three bays with their red engines, and the clock face and the top of the tower are lit.

BlockRise building cards now wear their tier: blue for tier 1, burgundy for tier 2, old gold for tier 3. The frame, the tab and the building name take the colour; the owner keeps their own. Hovering a placed building now shows its name, owner, tier and income per day.
BlockRise screenshot, interface in French: a brick pub with a roof terrace on a street corner, seen from above. A blue hover card over a neighbouring building reads Boulangerie (bakery), tier 1 of 3. On the right, the selected building's card, a fashion boutique, has an old-gold frame, a gold T3 tab and five stars.Same view of the same street corner. A burgundy hover card over the pub reads Pub, tier 2 of 3, with its income per day. On the right, the selected building's card, a bakery, has a blue frame, a blue T1 tab and two stars.

The BlockRise pub now has its three tiers in Barcelona: one storey, then a roof terrace, then a second floor under it. It arrived with its back to the street; that's fixed. And night is in: at 10 pm the windows are lit and the sign still reads from the pavement.
Three captures side by side of the same brick pub on a corner plot. Left: a single storey with a long black shopfront and a PUB sign. Middle: one more floor and a roof terrace with parasols. Right: two upper floors with the terrace on top. A yellow glow outlines the plot at ground level.Close view of the pub front at night. White PUB lettering and the words Food, Spirits, Music on a black fascia, lit shop windows below with bar stools inside, and warm lit windows upstairs with a figure standing at one of them. A yellow glow in the lower left corner.

Our BlockRise fashion boutique in Barcelona, tier 1 to tier 3. Rule we set: every upgrade has to read from the street, not just in a stats panel. Tier 3 then asks one question: Volume, Quality or Speed.
Three versions of the same fashion boutique side by side on a paved street in daylight. Right: tier 1, a single storey with a glazed shopfront under a FASHION sign. Middle: tier 2, with an added floor, black shutters and small balconies. Left: tier 3, with a further fully glazed floor and a hanging sign. Mannequins in the windows, bougainvillea on the facades, benches and a few pedestrians on the pavement.

Same plot, same one-storey footprint, same camera. Our BlockRise fashion shop went from flat cream walls to a textured render, dark trim, an arched sign and real side windows. One of fourteen shops we rebuilt to face the street.
Before and after of the BlockRise fashion shop, same camera, on a paved corner plot with plants and white cafe tables, grass and the sea behind. Left, old version: flat cream walls with a small black FASHION SHOP sign and awning. Right, new version: textured beige render, dark trim at the corners, a large arched black sign, dark-framed side windows and a glazed shopfront.

We rebuilt fourteen BlockRise shops this week. They were flat placeholder slabs, some facing away from the road. Now: real textures, readable signs, and three of them literally turned around to face the pavement.
Before and after of the BlockRise fried-chicken shop, same camera, with the sea and a road in the background. Both show a one-storey shop with an orange awning and a large chicken figure above a CHICKEN sign. Left, old version: flat white and orange walls. Right, new version: textured walls with darker trim and framed windows. Before and after of the BlockRise luxury boutique, same camera. Left, old version: a plain beige box with a flat black roof, its blank side facing the pavement. Right, new version: the building turned to face the street, with a black arched sign reading LUXORIA, an awning and lit shop windows.

A test we picked up from a r/tycoon thread and now use as an acceptance check: hide every sign. If you can't guess what the building is, it isn't done. Our BlockRise pharmacy leans on the rooftop cross and the green awning for that. Before/after, same camera.
Before and after of the BlockRise pharmacy, same camera, on a street by the sea. Both show a two-storey corner building with a round rooftop sign carrying a green cross and a green awning reading PHARMACY. Left, old version: flat pale grey walls. Right, new version: textured stone and tiled walls, a glazed upper floor and a stone base along the pavement.

May vs September, same BlockRise map. The first version mixed generated models with a lot of bought asset packs: each fine on its own, together a catalogue rather than a city. Since then: one art direction, a remodelled map, and buildings from our own procedural script.
Side-by-side aerial view of the same BlockRise map. Left, May 2026: a grid of empty grey and yellow plots with blocky red apartment buildings pushed to the edges, under flat purple-tinted light. Right, September 2026: grass, sand-coloured plots, roundabouts and a few detailed buildings, with the game's HUD and build menu.

Our BlockRise casino was a one-storey box with a bright sign on a single plot. It now takes three plots by two: a verdigris dome 16.5 m up, a colonnade, a marquee, and a gold sign that still reads from 345 m out. First building we designed as a landmark, not a business slot.
Before and after of the BlockRise casino in three framings: close facade, full building, and the in-game camera at 345 m. The old version is a one-storey shop box with a sign; the new one is a three-by-two monument with a verdigris dome, a colonnade and a marquee.
