Here’s an example of how this approach can help to elucidate all of the different elemental qualities of presence of a piece like “Asteroid.” I interviewed Hollywood director Doug Liman with his 30 Ninjas team + Google Android XR Max Spear at Venice Immersive: voicesofvr.com/1750-doug-li...

Here's the four-fold Venn diagram that shows the Blending of the Elements. More details are here: voicesofvr.com/1787-blendin... YouTube video of lecture: www.youtube.com/watch?v=01M5... PDF of slides: voicesofvr.com/wp-content/u... Previous canonical 2022 talk: voicesofvr.com/1389-element...
Venn diagram of blending of the four elements with 15 primary combinations. When considering the order and the combinations of 1, 2, 3, or 4 elements, then it expands out to 64 possible combinations. But this graphic shows the overlap.

In the upper left-hand corner is the Fire Element of Active Presence: Agency, Intention, Interactivity, Game Design.

in the upper right-hand corner is Air Element of Mental & Social Presence: Meaning, Form, Possibility, Semiotics, Language, Relationality.

In the lower right-hand corner is the Water element of Emotional Presence: Experiential Processes, Story, Film, Music, Cycles, & Time.

And in the lower left-hand corner is the Earth Element of Environmental & Embodied Presence: Worldbuilding, Space, Senses, Immersion.

In each episode, I dig into the elemental center of gravity, as well as the contextual domains explored, story that is being told as well as some of the archetypal themes and character of the story. My coverage kicks off with an interview with Doug Liman on ASTEROID: voicesofvr.com/1750-doug-li...
Elemental center of gravity for the immersive story called "Asteroid." Picture of DK Metcalf in a space suit on an asteroid with a table on the left that reads:

1st Center of Gravity of Emotional Presence: cinematic Virtual Reality thriller that begins as a film and continues as an immersive story game. Combination of live-action 180-video along with CGI-driven animations also in 180-video

2nd Center of Gravity of Earth Element / Environmental and Embodied Presence: Worldbuilding of sci-fi extraction of asteroid, you embody a character in story in the last part, and you break the fourth wall in the onboarding talking to the actor who plays a character via AI

3rd Center of Gravity of Air Element / Mental and Social Presence: Conversational-driven AI Story Extension – You talk to the actor DK Metcalf at the beginning and with the character at the end. A bit of puzzling together of the myserious aspects of the story

4th Center of Gravity of Fire Element / Active Presence: continues as an immersive story game – Improv convo + slightly nudged and directed exploration

I've now published all 30+ hours of my Venice Immersive 2025 coverage. I categorized the projects into a dozen elemental genres to help navigate it. There's 64 possible combos of all four elements, but 12 primary dyads. I unpack it all more in this LinkedIn post: www.linkedin.com/posts/kentby...
There are four elements (earth, air, fire, & water), and if you take into consideration the order / center of gravity, then there are 64 possible orientations. In looking at the dyadic orientations of two elements, then there are a dozen configurations that do a nice job of create "elemental genres" of immersive stories and immersive art. This post shows the twelve combinations, and then the associated projects underneath that.

Worth mentioning the Third Party Doctrine relative to the Fourth Amendment because any data given to a third party has “no legitimate ‘expectation of privacy’.” IANAL, but I wrote this up here: voicesofvr.com/1710-when-in... My previous interview with the ACLU on it: voicesofvr.com/676-aclus-je...
The AI Big Brother has already started within the context of private companies, but with the outdated Third-Party doctrine of the Fourth Amendment, then any data given to a third party has “no legitimate ‘expectation of privacy’.” From UNITED STATES v. MILLER (1976): “The Fourth Amendment does not prohibit the obtaining of information revealed to a third party and conveyed by him to Government authorities.” So the US government can request almost any data shared with a third party without a warrant, and given Big Tech’s cozy relationship to a democratically-backsliding US government, then who knows what kinds of backroom deals are being made to automate data sharing.

The State Dept is claiming it can "reimpose" UNSC resolutions, which it doesn't seem like the US has the authority to do so, right? www.state.gov/releases/off... This is the same trick they pulled with Iraq. See: scholarship.law.gwu.edu/cgi/viewcont... Interview: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kiup...
The six UNSCRs – 1696, 1737, 1747, 1803, 1835, and 1929 – were reimposed on September 27, 2025, following the Iranian regime’s continuing “significant non-performance” of its nuclear commitments. The UNSCRs include provisions that require the Iranian regime to suspend uranium enrichment-, heavy water-, and reprocessing-related activities; prohibit Iran from using ballistic missile technology; prohibit Iranian arms imports and exports; reimpose travel bans and global asset freezes on listed persons; and authorize the seizure of prohibited cargo being transferred to and from Iran.

The presumption of regularity at the SotU is was so uncanny. See the thread from @anatosaurus.bsky.social for some great context. It also reminded me of Barthes and what happens when rules-based boxers go up against wrestlers and the logic of spectacle. archive.thinkprogress.org/this-french-...
In his essay, Barthes contrasts pro wrestling to boxing.

This public knows very well the distinction between wrestling and boxing; it knows that boxing is a Jansenist sport, based on a demonstration of excellence. One can bet on the outcome of a boxing-match: with wrestling, it would make no sense. A boxing- match is a story which is constructed before the eyes of the spectator; in wrestling, on the contrary, it is each moment which is intelligible, not the passage of time… The logical conclusion of the contest does not interest the wrestling-fan, while on the contrary a boxing-match always implies a science of the future. In other words, wrestling is a sum of spectacles, of which no single one is a function: each moment imposes the total knowledge of a passion which rises erect and alone, without ever extending to the crowning moment of a result.

In the current campaign, Trump is behaving like a professional wrestler while Trump’s opponents are conducting the race like a boxing match. As the rest of the field measures up their next jab, Trump decks them over the head with a metal chair.

Some legal resources on UAP Secrecy. UAP Disclosure Act: www.congress.gov/118/crec/202... UAPDA Summary: uapda.org/summary UAP Secrecy: thesolfoundation.org/publications... PEADs: www.brennancenter.org/our-work/res... What's needed in an exec order: newparadigminstitute.org/take-action/... #UFOSky
UAP Disclosure Act Passed the Senate in 2024, but not in the House.
It Gives Many Clues to the Structure of UAP Secrecy Unpacked by Sol Foundation
Sol Foundation Suggests "Presidential Emergency Action Directives" Are Legal Basis of UAP Secrecy & Aren't Subjected to Congressional Oversight

"Given the clue in the Disclosure Act about the potential relationship between nuclear secrecy and UAP activities, any congressional inquiry into the origins of any actual UAP secrecy should make it an absolute priority to determine the truth about “MJ-12” and initial presidential awareness and decisions about UAP. If the inquiry’s findings are accurate, it will obtain a clear picture of the origins and legal foundation of UAP secrecy and its implications for the legislative branch. Any executive orders or directives turned up through the investigation — including any of those concerning urgent situations ostensibly requiring emergency powers and known today as Presidential Emergency Action Directives (PEADs) — would enlighten Congress as to the rationales for such secrecy, why it was imposed at the expense of the legislative branch, and the extent to which it is legal and constitutional. [97] Given the potentially grave implications for separation of powers of any such presidential emergency actions taken by the president to the detriment of Congress, we will discuss them later in this paper."
Brennan Center for Justice: "No evidence that [any PEAD] documents have ever been shared with relevant congressional committees."

"Presidential Emergency Action Documents (PEADs) are executive orders, proclamations, and messages to Congress that are prepared in anticipation of a range of emergency scenarios, so that they are ready to sign and put into effect the moment one of those scenarios comes to pass..."

"PEADs are classified “secret,” and no PEAD has ever been declassified or leaked. Indeed, it appears that they are not even subject to congressional oversight. Although the law requires the executive branch to report even the most sensitive covert military and intelligence operations to at least some members of Congress, there is no such disclosure requirement for PEADs, and no evidence that the documents have ever been shared with relevant congressional committees."
The Executive Order Must:

Order Immediate Government-Wide Records Searches: Direct every federal department, military service, intelligence agency, federally funded laboratory, and government contractor to conduct comprehensive searches for all records relating to:

Non-Human Intelligence (NHI) / Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ET)

Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)

Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs)

Flying discs, disks, and flying saucers

Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs)

Technologies of Unknown Origin (TUO)

Require Immediate Transfer to the UAP Records Collection: Mandate that all responsive materials be transferred without redaction or delay to the Congressionally established UAP Records Collection at the National Archives so independent review may begin immediately.

Establish Binding Definitions: Prevent concealment through terminology by formally defining key disclosure terms across the Executive Branch, including:

Non-Human Intelligence (NHI)

Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ET)

Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)

Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs)

Flying Discs / Flying Saucers

Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs)

Technologies of Unknown Origin (TUO)

Set Mandatory Timelines: Require agencies to:

Locate records within fixed deadlines

Complete classification review

Transfer materials to the National Archives

Report compliance progress publicly

Establish Clear Interagency and Congressional Oversight Roles: Direct coordinated participation by DoD, IC elements, DOE, NASA, and other agencies while affirming Congress’s oversight authority under existing law.

Require Transparency and Enforcement: Mandate regular public progress reports and support enforceable penalties for noncompliance established by Congress.

Disclosure Requires Action — Not Just Announcement

The American people are ready.

Email the White House today and respectfully urge President Trump to sign a binding Executive Order implementing full UAP records disclosure.

I’m a big UFO nerd. This could be a giant Epstein diversion. Or we could actually get Disclosure. We’ll see what evidence the government claims to have, what data they share, if scientists get data access to peer review & independently validate, & if NDAs are lifted for whistleblowers.
Trump said on Truth Social: “Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other
information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

Is Henry Kissinger - Nobel Laureate and the most famous diplomat of his generation - also a war criminal? Confronting the charges that Kissinger undermined LBJ's Vietnam peace talks, engineered the secret bombing of Cambodia, helped create the coup that toppled Chilean President Allende, and approved Indonesia's use of U.S. arms to massacre 100,000 East Timorese, the film plumbs the depth of one man's soul, as it questions basic tenets of international law.

Boasberg: "probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt." Trump is stress testing checks and balances of democracy: "The Constitution does not tolerate willful disobedience of judicial orders — especially by officials of a coordinate branch who have sworn an oath to uphold it."
Passage from Judge Boasberg's Memorandum Opinion from April 16, 2025: "The Constitution does not tolerate willful disobedience of judicial orders — especially by officials of a coordinate branch who have sworn an oath to uphold it. To permit such officials to freely “annul the judgments of the courts of the United States” would not just “destroy the rights acquired under those judgments”; it would make “a solemn mockery” of “the constitution itself.” United States v. Peters, 9 U.S. (5 Cranch) 115, 136 (1809) (Marshall, C.J.). “So fatal a result must be deprecated by all.” Id"

Just watched Sarah Wynn-Williams speak for the first time about her explosive claims in her book "Careless People" about Meta's secret cooperation with the CCP party in China. Meta got an emergency ruling from an arbitrator preventing her from promoting her book, & her first statements start at 42m.

I’m thinking more about the ethics of training AI on an artist’s work without their consent or legal copyright permission, and then commodifying that art style in a LLM to then having institutions of power posting images like this.

During SXSW I got an early look at the Apple Immersive Metallica concert that’s coming out tomorrow. Bottom line is made me motion sick after 26 minutes of persistent triggers. I’m sure fans will still love it, & I probably would have enjoyed it more if I were a fan www.linkedin.com/posts/kentby...
