Never let it be said I am a fair weather fan. My team lost today and my heart bleeds with them. There's always next week. That one I plan on attending in person as it's here in Los Angeles.

I had a great birthday. I spent it with close friends who accompanied me to see AVENGERS ENDGAME ENCORE , then we all went back to the home Bernie & I share, where she had a shrimp scampi dinner & chocolate granache cake waiting for us, along with gifts & birthday wishes. I really have a good life.

Not every game will be a masterpiece. This one was downright ugly, but it’s a win, and that’s all that counts in today’s NFL.

I haven't been doing much drawing lately because I've been dealing with real life thanks to a young driver slamming into my SUV on my right side from the rear. My car has been declared a total loss and am now scrambling to replace it. Fortunately, no one in either car was hurt.

After watching the NFL this afternoon, more than ever, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are inevitable.

I've had this design in my head since Comic-Con. I plan on inking a section of this piece so I can experiment with color paints, inks & dyes, seeing what works best on the cover stock so I can finally wrap up work on another commission piece. FYI, I don't do commissions paying less than $500.

I'm indeed working on THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: SHATTERED TOMORROWS. Here's a sneak peak at what comes next. I took out "To Be Continued..." and Pg 17 and replaced it with a balloon that was in Panel 1 of this page, which opens with the response now.

At least I sent @yardleyart.bsky.social email and an offer to pay royalties, including a check upfront. The man uses my creations without responding in kind and tells people they're free to use my characters. I will still pay Tracy the royalties promised despite his petty bullshit behavior.

1/ I bought this issue when it first hit the newsstands. It features Elliot S! Maggin's 1st DC story he sold on spec. Denny O'Neil, who co-created John Stewart with artist Neal Adams, was my editor when I penciled CAPTAIN ATOM issue 41 during the XMas holidays of 1989-90.

RIP Will Murray. Will & I reconnected after not seeing each other for almost 40 years. I bought a couple of his books during the con we met up at and now I’m sorry I won’t get to enjoy the new works he was planning. His DOC SAVAGE novels are a cherished part of my collection.

I've been invited to take part in a documentary about the SatAM series and 90's Sonic fandom during the last weekend of this coming October. I'm being flown to the FT Lauderdale area and will be participating in a store event. Details are currently being worked out. Stay tuned.

I’ve noticed an interesting pattern emerging since Comic-Con. I’m receiving more international orders through Ebay for the Mobian Adventure Series and I think I know why. eBay can track every order up to delivery. Shipping would cost way too much if I offered it.

COMIC-CON THANK YOU SPECIAL: As a gesture of appreciation for my most successful Comic-Con EVER , anyone ordering ANY book from the Mobian Adventure Series will automatically receive a FREE SONIC 35th ANNIVERSARY PRINT signed by me along with it through the month of August.

LAST DAY: Leo 2273D4. The convention hall has opened. Lady Death was on hand to greet exhibitors as we entered Hall D. The experience has been a complete whirlwind and far more successful than anticipated. This convention has cemented Lara-Su’s place with the fans.

The Invisible Man decided he just had to have one of the last copies I have of THE SHADOW FILES Variant Edition before they disappeared. A good choice on his part.

Day 3 of @Comic_Con is well underway. THE SHADOW FILES Variant Edition is almost sold out. Sold out 1 of my Shadow prints. The Sonic 35th Anniversary is proving to be pretty popular with the general fan base, as I’m receiving a number of orders through my website store.

Day 1 of @Comic_Con has been underway for some time, but I’ve been busy signing copies of THE SHADOW FILES Variant Edition & THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS. And yes, the Sonic 35th Anniversary Print is proving to be pretty popular as well.

Bernie & I are enjoying Preview Night @Comic_Con . I’m wearing the Knuckles T-shirt along with a Knuckles pin that was sent to me as gifts from several fans. Thanks, everyone! Much appreciated. THE SHADOW FILES Variant Edition is selling very well. I’m anticipating a sell out.

Here’s an 8.5” x 11” print I created to celebrate Sonic’s 35th Anniversary at Bernie’s suggestion. I’m giving it away free with my autograph with a purchase of a copy of any of the Mobian Adventure series books. Or one can spend $20 to purchase the print with my signature.

I have a new Lara-Su print that I’m making available for sale here at Comic-Con. It’ll also be available through my online store soon.

We’re still hours away from Preview Night at Comic-Con, but I’m all set up and good to go. I’m located at Table P-02, on the right of aisle 1900 as you come in from the front entrance. Hope to see you there.

I’m finishing up this commission so I can get this in the mail to its rightful owner. The only commission pieces I’ll take on for @Comic_Con this year will feature a Sonic character alongside a DC Comics character on blank IDW-DC cover stock. $250 just pencils, $350 inked. 1st come, 1st served.

I saw SUPERGIRL in 3D yesterday. Forget the haters. I enjoyed the film, especially the fact that it presented her comic book origin faithfully in flashbacks utilizing Curt Swan’s Krypton costume designs and architecture. Millie was terrific as Supergirl. Looking forward to more.

THE SHADOW FILES will BEGIN SHIPPING on Wednesday, June 24. All USA orders should arrive at their destination by Saturday, June 27, depending on the local postal service. This would also a great time to add any other FIP release to the collection!

I just received word my order of THE SHADOW FILES has arrived at the Port of Los Angeles and is awaiting to clear Customs. As I await word on the arrival of THE SHADOW FILES to the Port of Los Angeles, I thought I'd share this character illustration of Salma that I did for the Lara-Su app, one of many such pieces I'm currently working on.

142

@realkenpenders.bsky.social @kenpenders.com · 02/06/2026

While I think this is a nice representation for Salma's Data File entry in print, I can really show her emerging from the background into her natural form much better on the Lara-Su App.

132

@realkenpenders.bsky.social @kenpenders.com · 01/06/2026

I've decided the Lara-Su Character Data Files are going to be a Lara-Su app exclusive feature as they'll be a lot more easier to update than print is able to handle. The presentation will also be much better when depicting multiple views of the character such as Lien-Da seen here.

Another Trump jackass… er, excuse me, voter, is on the loose on CA public streets. Probably oblivious to the cost of gas for that guzzler he’s driving around in along with the cost of food and health care. Moron thinks Trump gives a shit about him when Trump could care less.
