Small nit: I'd add "...engineer and well-respected cryptographer". I'll never forget the time I asked Steve for a curbside consult on a startup's crypto algorithm on GH, and about half an hour later he replied, “Well…it doesn't seem obviously terrible.” That's high praise from a cryptographer!

It is extraordinary how I can tell Claude nonchalantly — with 0 clue on my part about anything in the Swift(?) world — to assume I know nothing & have nothing but default shipped libraries on my MacBook, and write a native iOS app that does X, and it just…does! I'm staying brief stint at rehab center (surgical recovery, not addiction) yesterday and found what looked like a promising local Tex-Mex place. I was going to order seafood enchiladas and a soda, but w/ tip it would've been almost $50. Are you kidding me Doordash?! That's over double in-house.

Random life protip: if you use a food delivery app (DoorDash, Glovo, Grab whatever) for a restaurant you've actually visited in person, and something you like isn't configurable on the app, often you can order best you can then call the restaurant and ask for your preference.

Preach brother. I've worked on & around FIPS-covered systems for 10+ years and while I'ill suppress the nadir of my NIST love/hate relationship, I can say with certainty that for each good-faith guidance & doc they put out, the security benefit for actual end users is nearly always a net negative.

2/2… guy showed us the trick. Where each flame comes out, gas is fed through these tiny horizontal pinholes. So rather than a vague suggestion to "use steel wool to clean things", you just need a paper clip to poke out any burnt debris that's accumulated inside each pinhole. I worked!! 🙌
