8 Late-Round Rookies Who Could Make a Fantasy Impact in 2025

The 2025 NFL Draft is over, so it’s time for me to retreat to the rankings cave and develop the first iteration of 4for4’s official projections. But first, let’s discuss a few late-round (4th-7th) roo...

Of those I have only thrown the Zone, in my travel bag.

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 26/01/2025

Flying, so no backups. :( What are your most thrown discs?

140

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 26/01/2025

Cool looking bag! Just six is so hard to choose. What are your six (without knowing anything about the course)?

What's your favorite lightweight 'travel bag'? If you even have one?

000

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

When deciding, did you lean towards backup discs or discs you might use in very specific shots/holes?

000

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

Have you ever had this situation come up, where you have to pick just a few discs to carry with you on a trip? How many did you initially allow yourself? And how many did you end up bringing?

430

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

So on to the question(s)...

320

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

I'm looking at a number of other discs for the #10 spot (knowing full well I will probably buy another or 2 while there). Some of these are backups, newer versions, or just used in very specific situations.

120

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

I promised myself I would only bring the 'most essential' 4-6 discs to conserve space. That quickly grew to 8-9 discs. I am now at 9 discs in the bag, and am debating adding a 10th.

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

A disc golf story and question thread. I'm packing for a trip back to my hometown of San Diego. Bringing a small selection of discs to use at my OG course Morley Field (and probably 1-2 others). My travel bag is the first dg bag I bought in 1985-ish. Old but ideal for 10-15 discs. Classic!

What the... I must have been added to a list somewhere or something. 400+ new followers today. Folks. Love you all. But seriously, I'm just not that interesting.

After five games, the Trail has organically become my primary driver. Replacing my Wraith. For whatever that's worth. I resist proclaiming 'the next big thing' but honestly this disc is the real deal. It's pretty darn good.

120

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

Sounds like an Insanity. I have zero forehand so that's my turnover disc.

110

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

Pretty straight. Good glide. Easy to grip even though the rim felt small. A bit less overstable than the Wraith which is my primary driver. Still very early so haven't really determined if it will fully replace anything or just be another tool in the tool belt. But first impressions were good.

120

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

Have not thrown a Detour. But I might give it a try.

110

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

Bought a Trail (my first) and a misprint Pixel (third) today. First impressions of the Trail after throwing a round... I like it. Felt good, easy distance, very predictable. Pixel is awesome, as always! Shout out to Disc Golf Depot, best Disc Golf store in the PDX area! #discgolf

Yeah no complaints, it was a good round esp after so long off. Played again today and shot even Par, four birds four bogies. Meh. Still, a beautiful day out. Hope you get at it tomorrow and have a great game!

Between travel, holidays and really nasty cold, finally shot my first round of disc golf in over two months today. Not my best ever but I'll take it. Pretty clean round. Good to get outside again!

Depends on the putt, but mostly a Pure. Watt for floaty uphill putts. Zone if its windy. Sometimes a Hope if I'm just feeling that disc that day.

020

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 11/01/2025

If I HAD to choose only one putter, it would be a Pure.

020

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 11/01/2025

Love my beat in Pixel, but mostly for high touch, shot-shaping short approach shots. Great disc.

220

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 11/01/2025

I usually do a minor bag reset/upgrade every winter - trying a few new discs, replacing some worn discs. For putters I use them longer so replace less, but like trying different discs. r/n it's mostly Pure, Watt, Zone & Hope, but will be trying out a Dagger & Luna this offseason.

So cool (no pun intended). Great segment, and it will be so much more fun in good spring / summer weather, so be sure to give it a try again on an actual disc golf course in better weather! Thanks for sharing!

Disc Golf for sure! You may be frustrated the first time you try, but give it a couple rounds and you'll be hooked. Such a great, inexpensive, relaxing way to get outdoors. Skydiving is more of a one-off adventure than a sustainable hobby, but still totally worth doing!

Yeah I'd save Hock for when there has been a solid 4-5 days of dry weather. The drainage sitch there is not entirely sorted yet. But regardless let me know whenever you are up in the Couv and we will try to connect!

Dude I feel ya. I played a good bit from 1982 to 92, basically stopped playing for almost 30 years. Was so frustrated starting back up again. Body didn't work the same. Using 30yo discs. lol It was bad. Now, I'm playing better golf than I ever did at 27. Work harder, adjusted style, new discs, etc.

110

Ken Moody @kenmoody.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

Yeah, it's definitely worth the visit. 18 holes, well designed mix of long holes and a few wooded tech shots. Good parking, dedicated course, not much elevation change. Can get a little soggy after a rain.
