This is a wonderful series about an Alt-History of women in Apollo-era space exploration. Even if you haven't read any of it yet this is a great place to start! I had it bookmarked to pledge sometime, but seeing the count at 999, I needed to get in there now and claim 1000th backer status!! 😎
Screenshot from my pledge page showing the current progress of "999 people plus you" raising $55,627.

Also, if you need any more evidence of how disconnected tech companies have become from actually meeting customer needs & interests - there's this recent ad. Although, considering it's motivating me to want to quit working in IT altogether, I suppose it's not all bad! 😉
Advertisement for Copilot Microsoft 365. It is a photo of a woman with text stating "Can I be in three meetings at once? Watch me"

That's awesome! Both concept & definitely art!!! I especially love the cutting board shield! It definitely deserves a chef's kiss. Reminds me of a battle chef character I had (Culinarian Scholar class by @sterlingvermin.bsky.social & art by @claudiopozas.bsky.social) Line Cooks of the Apocalypse!
Artwork of a grey-skinned deep gnome chef adventurer holding a meat cleaver. A pot and mug hang off of his backpack. He has a bandolier of spices. He is wearing a red bandana and has a large white mustache similar to Hercule Poirot. A series of tattoos on his arms show under his rolled up sleeves.

*sigh* Do we REALLY need to bring this sort of crap over from Twitter? "I like Biden because of [this]." "Oh, so you don't care about [that] or [this other thing]?!" *sigh* It's so tiresome and classic Twitter drama-farming.
Screenshot of a Twitter post from Coolee Bravo @BravoCoolee that says "Twitter is the only place where well articulated sentences still get misinterpreted. You can say 'I like pancakes' and somebody will say 'So you hate waffles?' No bitch. Dats a whole new sentence. Wtf is you talkin about."

Plus, they were in development for four years before the whole AI thing was even an option! Like who in the world thought this was a brilliant idea and worth hundreds of millions years before the AI hype bubble even started??? The only thing I can think of is the techbro version of The Producers.
Photo from the movie "The Producers" with Matthew Broderick as Leo Bloom sitting on a couch dressed in a suit as Nathan Lane as Max Bialystock dressed in a velvet jacket and white scarf leans against him. Max holds his hand out reaching and both are looking off into the distance like Max is telling Leo some grand idea.

White meme text states "Just picture it - an AI Pin projecting onto your hand in low res green like monitors of old."

This is what elevates it from a silly joke to what should be required reading. (I know I'm going to use in my Med Ethics courses!) The abstract indicates that parachutes are no benefit, even on airliners. Reading the details shows that people asked on airliners (of course!) declined to participate.
Screenshot of text from the article: "The Parachute trial satirically highlights some of the limitations of randomized controlled trials. Nevertheless, we believe that such trials remain the gold standard for the evaluation of most new treatments. The Parachute trial does suggest, however, that their accurate interpretation requires more than a cursory reading of the abstract. Rather, interpretation requires a complete and critical appraisal of the study. In addition, our study highlights that studies evaluating devices that are already entrenched in clinical practice face the particularly difficult task of ensuring that patients with the greatest expected benefit from treatment are included during enrollment."

New Planescape DnD book with 16 NPCs & their primary locations in Sigil, the City of Doors! My contribution is Chef Savory Thoughts, a rogue decaton modron who operates a restaurant that serves the memories of exquisite meals. www.dmsguild.com/product/4759...
Image of a decaton modron chef holding vegetables and kitchen knives while wearing a classic white floppy chef's hat. Text says "Faces of the Case" as well as a quote from Chef Savory Thoughts "You have the look about you of someone overwhelmed with the realities beyond your home plane. Please, have a seat and try this Abyssal chicken in an Aquallorian kelp wrap. It is such a delightful contrast, that it's worth forgetting about existential dread for a few minutes, at least. Yes?"
