AI now costs more than human workers. So don't tell us we can't afford UBI. If AI creates public-scale wealth, people deserve a share through Public Wealth Fund dividends.

Singapore is an economic miracle. Their visionary founding father understood that because land value is publicly created, it should be publicly shared. Tax land, instead of workers/businesses.

In Canada, real estate (60-90% land value) is by far the #1 source of rising net worths. It's not even close. To restore the link between work and wealth, The Economist Editorial Board says build more housing and tax land value. We need leaders who will heed this call.

BC has "the best land assessment authority in North America for Georgist reasons... that gets you top marks". — Prof. Francis K. Peddle Early BC mayors like L.D. Taylor supported taxing land over productivity. This should be mainstream politics again.

South Korea's rural UBI (called Love Gift Certificates 🫰) was so successful, they wanted to make it permanent and expand to 69 regions. The results speak for themselves: local businesses grew, declining regions saw population growth. The west should pay attention when UBI works.

Republican senator from Ohio wants to tax land rather than property. Property taxes discourage housing and encourage hoarding. Land value tax fixes this.

Tax cuts on the middle class—the middle ground that both left and right can agree on. If we lower tax on income and shift it to land, most households come out ahead and we'd have a healthier housing market. That's a political winner.

Ireland's artist basic income paid back much of what it cost. That's why it's now permanent. Now South Korea is following: the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced plans to develop its own basic income model for artists by the end of 2026.

The cost of housing comes mostly from land values, which are shaped by the work society does around it. It's fair for that value to be shared with the larger society that created it.

Andrew Yang says we should stop taxing workers, and tax AI instead. "We should try to stop taxing labor." Let's take it a step further: shift income taxes to land and pay dividends, as Sam Altman has proposed. Land gets more valuable as AI makes us more productive.
