All right Packers there are four minutes left which is normally a lot of time for you to lose. But let's get it done for Ditka. Go Pack, go! 🧀

I picked up a Compaq Presario 4550 at #VCFMW. It's now fully restored and I can't be happier. I grew up with the 4526, and this is the AMD 233 MHz variant. But the chances of ever coming across that tower again is slim to none. Same form factor. Couldn't be happier.

Today the Wisconsin Computer Club had an event at the library in Howard, WI. I showed off a NeXT Cube and custom mini computer. My sister sat down and completed the Oregon Trail in one go. She even lost all spare wheels 50 miles after starting to a fire and still made it!

Any slim hopes I had for macOS 27 being better than the previous release have been dashed.

If you use a modern Apple computer its lineage can be traced back to this computer. I’ll have it set up for you to try this Saturday in Howard, just outside a Green Bay, WI.

Gas prices are so high I traded my Prius in for a vehicle that gets 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene. Thanks Biden. #maga #trump #jesussaves

Found an ISO of my favorite Ultra Game Players CD, which I still have in rough shape. I'm writing the disc on a Compaq Presario I obtained at #VCFMW this last weekend.

Not five minutes after walking onto the #VCFMW floor I spotted this Presario 4550. It's not the exact model our family's first computer the 4526, but the AMD variant. A little while later I found the exact CD ROM drive it is supposed to have. $50 well spent. I'm absolutely in love with this.

One of the best #vcfmw booths BY FAR was @scottsgear.bsky.social. I was able to describe a Palm III camera by Kodak that I once owned and within seconds he handed it to me. Just a phenomenal collection showing the incremental progress to our bland ho-hum slabs of today.
