I think I might have a parasocial relationship blind spot for pets. Like i know that the PERSON i follow absolutely doesn't know i exist irl, but their dog/cat/lizard/whatever who they post pictures of all the time is DEFINITELY my good buddy and you can't convince me i'm wrong about this.

Just finished Hemlock and Silver by T. Kingfisher, and it was so lovely! If you grew up on Mercedes Lackey / Tamora Pierce, you'll find a new favorite here. As someone who first encountered her as an artist on Elfwood, meeting her again in a new artform is an unexpected delight. Really great stuff.

Okay but counterpoint: figuring out how to tesselate a bunch of books into small/medium boxes—identifying and combining identical book dimensions to create blocks that pack perfectly—is one of the most satisfying parts of any move and every gamer should try it imo <.<

I saw this a lot while doing games loc! It's very normal in JP scripts (for games, at least), so many editors, VAs, and directors see it as an audience expectation. It often takes someone explicitly stating "no, we're not doing that for this title" to stop it passing straight through to the EN.

1) Shield spell is your friend 2) Beyond that, you won't have many spell slots at low level, so try to focus on things that affect multiple targets or last for multiple turns. That way when you DO use a slot, it feels worth it Dragon's Breath and Flaming Sphere are both fun lv2 spells for this! :)
