In my defense, the context here is we were selling the Miata. The guy had handed over the cash, and then like a minute later Ash asked me “Did you get the pens?” referring to the counterfeit-checker pens for the cash, but it sounded like “pins” and I had no idea what he was asking for.

If there was any way we could’ve made that our only car, we totally would’ve sold the van instead. But you can’t drive a Miata in the snow and ice! Also, apparently the van, despite being almost a decade newer, is not worth as much as the Miata. So, here we are. Happy but very sad too.

We keep trying to watch the more recent Star Trek shows (Discovery, Strange New Worlds), but it feels like Paramount is trying to make Trek into prestige television. As mentioned previously, what I appreciate most about Trek is its campiness, and that’s just not a thing in these series, it seems.

When I was like 7, KTVU did a “Creature Feature” playing scary movies. One time it was The Hand, an Oliver Stone movie featuring Michael Caine as a comic book writer who lost a hand and then the titular hand went on a killing spree. Scared me so much but tbh it was probably a hilarious movie.
