Started a scary but exciting new journey last week where I am betting on myself and writing full time for six months. Still trying to figure the work schedule out (thanks @vmburnsbooks.bsky.social for the hand holding) but this is today’s office.

I came on here just to block JD Vance and I must have signed up for some sort of block chain that added him because he's already blocked. I do wish I could have had the satisfaction of actually blocking him though. lol

I've been so removed from anything book related so learning #MissingWhiteWoman is longlisted for the The Crime Writers' Association's Twisted Dagger award was truly a shock. Congrats to the other amazing authors on this list.

Truly shocked that Missing White Woman is a nominee for Best Standalone Mystery at this year's ITW Thriller Awards. A huge congrats to all the Thriller Award nominees. They changed things up this year when it came to categories & broke things out by genre. It's a very cool & diverse list of books.

I know that Dr. King and Coretta would be so proud of how their daughter is continuing with his legacy--not letting people co-opt Dr. King's words and mission for their own horrible means.

Being a midlist author is such an interesting experience. When browsing Netgalley, sometimes you'll be rejected or ignored when making Netgalley requests and sometimes you'll be like "Hey that's me!" when looking at book description comps. Bookthreads

One plus of being absent-minded is I totally forgot that Past Me sent Present Me an End of the Year video to watch today. Just watched & she was so positive! lol Present Me will now surprise Future Me with a video to watch for the end of 2025. She will not be as positive but she'll definitely try.

As a tarot deck collector, I always like to pull a card for the year and post different depictions from some of my decks. (Tarot is art if nothing else.) I normally pull very active cards, but this year I got the Four of Swords. The card of rest.
