It's no mystery. History tells us that President Trump’s executive order calling for the MMR to be split into separate shots could do real harm.

russia targeted a UNICEF-contracted warehouse near Kyiv on the weekend. Critical kit, intended for children and families, was destroyed. Help replenish supplies in a matched-donation campaign for families suffering in frontline areas. secure.unicef.ca/page/98630/d... 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇦
On July 19, a UNICEF-contracted warehouse near Kyiv was severely damaged in an attack by the Russian Armed Forces.

More than 106,000 humanitarian items, valued at approximately $3.9 million USD, were inside. Generators, drinking water, hygiene kits and water storage tanks intended for children and families affected by the war were destroyed.

These supplies are critical to UNICEF's response, particularly for families in frontline areas and as the coming winter approaches.

UNICEF and our partners continue to assist affected children and families. But there is now urgent need to replace these essential supplies and sustain the humanitarian response. Right now, your donation can have twice the impact for children and families affected by the war in Ukraine. Will you make an urgent donation today to help UNICEF continue reaching children and families?

DONATE FOR 2X IMPACT

The warehouse attack came amid another devastating week for children across Ukraine, with two children reportedly killed and at least 50 more injured. June also recorded the highest monthly number of child casualties in Ukraine since 2022, with seven children killed and 116 injured.

Children and humanitarian facilities must be protected. Above all, children in Ukraine need lasting peace.

Thank you for helping UNICEF continue its work for children and families in Ukraine. Please give today and your gift will go twice as far.

In its switch to permanent daylight time, B.C. got it wrong
March 6, 2026
By Mike Harnett
Health & Safety

British Columbia’s decision to adopt permanent daylight saving time has been framed as a matter of convenience, emphasizing fewer clock changes and brighter evenings.

But from a health and safety perspective, the province has made the wrong choice. From an occupational health and safety perspective, they’ve made a dangerous choice.

If governments want to eliminate seasonal clock changes, the scientific consensus among sleep and circadian researchers is clear: permanent standard time is the safer option. Instead, B.C. has chosen a policy that pushes sunrise later relative to work schedules.

That matters because human alertness and cognitive functioning is biologically tied to morning sunlight.

Our circadian rhythm, that internal clock that regulates sleep, hormones, and cognitive performance, relies on being synchronized to morning light. Simply put, humans are a…

Standard time is widely recognized as better aligned with human health & natural sleep rhythms, particularly for children/adolescents. Darker winter mornings also raise concerns about student safety—especially for those walking, biking, or waiting for transportation on the way to school.
