* Sent the FBI rather than Senate investigators, which spooked Hill * Delayed releasing the report of that investigation until the day of the vote etc etc etc, including the attached excerpt from the same tidy book I often turn to for convenience.
Biden, desperate as ever to appear fair and impartial, was swayed by the Republican leadership to agree to a set of demands stacking the deck against Hill and anti-Thomas forces. While some Democrats wanted weeks to properly investigate the allegations, Biden agreed to hold the hearings that Friday, exclude questions about Thomas’s sexual behavior more generally, not take another committee vote, and accept a full Senate vote the following Tuesday, no matter what transpired. Worse, Biden agreed to Republicans’ request to let Thomas not only testify first—reneging on a deal Biden had made with Hill’s advisers—but also a second time, giving him both the last word and a much larger, prime-time audience. Thomas used it to issue what one GOP strategist called an “item-by-item denial” that “gave us the newspapers the next morning.” Biden had “agreed to the terms of the people who were out to disembowel Hill,” one Kennedy aide commented bitterly.

I know animation is a whole different thing and you probably know all this already, but just in case, the recentish DC Tomorrowverse movies have a pretty great Supergirl, and the currently-airing My Adventures With Superman S03 now has a Supergirl who's on the main cast and is a lot of silly fun

Wrong, ScreenRant, everyone who's a proper scifi tv nerd remembers at least one of these 10 shows judging by your header image, article premise disproven so I shan't read it, good day
It's wild and telling that this vibecoded corporate service doesn't even have OCR for images but it's a headline from ScreenRant saying "10 Near-Perfect Sci-Fi Shows That Nobody Remembers Today" and the header image is Rachel Nichols in her future-soldiercop catsuit from Continuum, OBVIOUSLY

He also hated *Wagner* for being anti-semitic! As someone who believed races exist, Nietzsche inevitably had some deeply objectionable and wrongheaded views, but to call them *anti-semitic* views is at best a broad conflation.
"By the summer of 1876, during the time of the first Festspiele, I said farewell to Wagner in my heart. I suffer no ambiguity; and since Wagner had moved to Germany, he had condescended step by step to everything I despise—even to anti-Semitism."

This portion of Human, All-Too Human shows, I think, a lot of the nuances of his views. I'm certainly not going to endorse them 100%, far from it, but it's more thoughtful and defensible (and original) than what I hear from most widely-platformed contemporary commentators or politicians even today!
The European man and the abolition of nations. Trade and industry, books and letters, the way in which all higher culture is shared, the rapid change of house and scenery, the present nomadic life of everyone who is not a landowner—these circumstances necessarily produce a weakening, and finally the abolition, of nations, at least in Europe; and as a consequence of continual intermarriage there must develop a mixed race, that of the European man. . . . It is not the interest of the many (of peoples), as is often claimed, but above all the interest of certain royal dynasties and also of certain classes in commerce and society, that drives to nationalism. Once one has recognized this, one should declare oneself without embarrassment as a good European and work actively for the amalgamation of nations. In this process the Germans could be helpful by virtue of their long proven skill as interpreters and mediators among peoples.
Incidentally, the whole problem of the Jews exists only in nation states, for here their energy and higher intelligence, their accumulated capital of spirit and will, gathered from generation to generation through a long schooling in suffering, must become so preponderant as to arouse mass envy and hatred. In almost all contemporary nations, therefore—in direct proportion to the degree to which they act up nationalistically—the literary obscenity is spreading of leading the Jews to slaughter as scapegoats of every conceivable public and internal misfortune. As soon as it is no longer a matter of preserving nations, but of producing the strongest possible European mixed race, the Jew is just as useful and desirable an ingredient as any other national remnant. Unpleasant, even dangerous,Unpleasant, even dangerous, qualities can be found in every nation and every individual: it is cruel to demand that the Jew be an exception. In him, these qualities may even be dangerous and revolting to an unusual degree; and perhaps the young stock-exchange Jew is altogether the most disgusting invention of mankind. In spite of that, I should like to know how much one must forgive a people in a total accounting when they have had the most painful history of all peoples, not without the fault of all of us, and when one owes to them the noblest man (Christ), the purest sage (Spinoza), the most powerful book, and the most effective moral law in the world. Moreover, in the darkest times of the Middle Ages, when the Asiatic cloud masses had gathered heavily over Europe, it was Jewish free-thinkers, scholars, and physicians who clung to the banner of enlightenment and spiritual independence in the face of the harshest personal pressures and defended Europe against Asia. We owe it to their exertions, not least of all, that a more natural, more rational, and certainly unmythical explanation of the world was eventually able to triumph again, and that the bond of culture which now links us with the enlightenment of Greco-Roman antiquity remained unbroken. If Christianity has done everything to orientalize the Occident, Judaism has helped significantly to occidentalize it again and again: in a certain sense this means as much as making Europe’s task and history a continuation of the Greek.

If you wanna read some withering, incensed teardowns of Paul, Nietzsche is very good for that, he hated Paul maybe even as much as he hated antisemitism
Paul thought up the idea, and Calvin re-thought it, that for innumerable people damnation has been decreed from eternity, and that this beautiful world plan was instituted to reveal the glory of God: heaven and hell and humanity are thus supposed to exist—to satisfy the vanity of God! What cruel and insatiable vanity must have flared in the soul of the man who thought this up first, or second. Paul has remained Saul after all—the persecutor of God.It is plain what was finished with the death on the cross: a new, an entirely original basis for a Buddhistic peace movement, for an actual, not merely promised, happiness on earth. For this, as I have already emphasized, remains the fundamental difference between the two religions of decadence: Buddhism does not promise but fulfills; Christianity promises everything but fulfills nothing. On the heels of the “glad tidings” came the very worst: those of Paul. In Paul was embodied the opposite type to that of the “bringer of glad tidings”: the genius in hatred, in the vision of hatred, in the inexorable logic of hatred. How much this dysangelist sacrificed to hatred! Above all, the Redeemer: he nailed him to his own cross. The life, the example, the doctrine, the death, the meaning and the right of the entire evangel—nothing remained once this hate-inspired counterfeiter realized what alone he could use. Not the reality, not the historical truth!

TITLE: Starfleet Academy is Legacies: The Next Generation

Draft Post:
This is a draft, and is only visible to you and other users who can edit Keithflix News. Use "Publish" to publish this post.

BODY:
By the time of Legacies, the TVD franchise had necessarily gotten so unserious that the tone really struggled with big, sweeping plots of mythological and soap operatic dramas. But as part of the franchise it was, Legacies could rarely lower itself to being the most obvious and satisfying cliche'd trick, one that the Plec franchise couldn't cross without maybe even losing its identity:

The kids would have to actually have something better than, like, even just Did Not Attend in any subject

I'm lucky enough to live in a place with large, openable screen windows (including a full screen pullout for the front door) so when there's a bit of a breeze at night and I shut everything up and close the blinds early enough in the morning, it's very doable! But that does seem tenuous, heh
