Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Did a bit more research - apparently there were sumptuary laws controlling what you could serve depending on status. Cardinals were allowed to serve up to 9 dishes per meal vs 7 for dukes. Potatoes would have been classed as peasant food. And this little snippet about another cardinal of the time: 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Not a bad steak night, now to pass out by the fire with a glass of red 020

Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Well, that’s the dining room done. Just over a month end to end - quickest room so far. Still hate the white uPVC windows but that’ll have to wait. 130
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Really OneDrive? You couldn’t put an `if` clause around this date? 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 05/09/202627 years in this town and it’s the first time I’ve sat on the beds in this establishment #York 010
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Oooh nice! I found a bunch of plastic ones we can just bury - I hate our patio anyway so it’s a good excuse to dig it up and lay some better stone 110
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 17/08/2026At least someone at Microsoft still has a sense of humour 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 07/08/2026“This window trim is loose, I wonder…” Later: “Hello daylight my old friend.” 010
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Not technically a skull, but this was a doodle that ended up as my mum’s work screensaver 110
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 30/07/2026Last evening in Porthleven for this holiday! Next year in Scotland! 020

Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Chicken curry with dates and toasted almonds. Very full now but will happily take on any American food discoursers. 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Ah, well you want my wife for Yorkshire puds! Never seen stargazer pie on any menus, thankfully ;) 110
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 25/05/2026Fair point. I’m coming at as an engineering manager who used to get 3 or 4 of these per week which the client rarely cared about. Too hot to say more, but here’s a boat in Argostoli for @dreadships.bsky.social 120
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 23/05/2026The only kind of Mythos I want to hear about on holiday 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 17/05/2026So the result of making a mess yesterday was a tip run today, sat in a car reeking of old person bathroom carpet 000
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 07/05/2026At least the lilacs are in bloom! (Actually, everything’s looking good this year thanks to the rains - last year it was a desert and even the Alchemilla Mollis struggled) 000
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 01/05/2026Mistakes were made. Send for my elasticated pantaloons. 110
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 25/04/2026Love this time of year for the colours of Pieris Japonicus 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 19/04/2026I have a clematis to tie up and a couple of things to plant. After that I shall mostly be sitting outside in the pursuit of doing absolute FA. 130
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Anyone know what this is? Large shrub, deciduous, big flowers in early summer. Smells gorgeous. My phone thinks it’s a viburnum 130
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Not sure if we’ll get another year out of this greenhouse. Half the wood is rotted, it’s already been patched (we keep digging up glass from where the original roof evidently shattered many years ago), and the base is bent from old trees. Maybe I need to learn carpentry… 030
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 12/04/2026💯 Especially when it’s clotted with years of old roots. Just clearing this patch was a day’s work! 120
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 11/04/2026Golden Guineas looking exceptional this spring 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 11/04/2026And what did we learn about not tinkering with clocks? 020
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 05/04/2026Today’s efforts! Fork seems to work but this ground hasn’t been dug over since we moved in so it’s thick with roots 110
Keith Williams @keithwilliams.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Solid progress on the garden with Mrs W. Thinning out the ranks of dense conifers to let more light in. Son is over at his mate’s house so I’d say that makes it beer o’clock 000
