Keith LaFountaine @keithlafountaine.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Back in high school, I checked out this copy of The Stand. I inhaled it. I begged my school librarian to let me keep it after graduating. They agreed, but it went missing in April 2012. Lo and behold, I found that exact copy again in Crow Bookshop in 2017. Happy birthday, @stephenking.bsky.social! 010
Keith LaFountaine @keithlafountaine.bsky.social · 06/09/2026A complete surprise find for me this evening: THE KING TIDE, directed by Christian Sparkes. It's about a small island community that pulls apart at its seams when a child with mysterious powers washes ashore. Really great storytelling. Gorgeous cinematography. Highly recommend. 000
Keith LaFountaine @keithlafountaine.bsky.social · 01/09/2026This could not be more true. Our cat Patchy has a designated corner of the home office where he pouts, and he only goes there when my wife leaves the house. And then he will refuse to come out of his corner for at least 20 minutes after she gets back. 020

Keith LaFountaine @keithlafountaine.bsky.social · 31/08/2026My dad used to manage a Video World in Burlington's North End. I would go to the store with him sometimes and traipse through, looking at all the VHS and DVD covers, and he'd set up a chair for me so I could watch the movie he put on the in-store TV. He also brought home 3 DVD rentals every weekend. 020
Keith LaFountaine @keithlafountaine.bsky.social · 31/08/2026BUDDY is a delirious, gory, and surprisingly funny ride. The production and character design alone are worth the price of entry, but Keegan-Michael Key's performance as Buddy is genuinely disturbing. The kids give great performances. Topher Grace is there. Anyway, go grab a ticket. 010

Keith LaFountaine @keithlafountaine.bsky.social · 19/06/2026I finished Stanislaw Lem's novel today, and had to rewatch Tarkovsky's masterpiece again. Despite the differences between the two visions, I still find myself enchanted with SOLARIS. The emotional richness, the patient direction, the performances. The final shot. I love it all. 000

Keith LaFountaine @keithlafountaine.bsky.social · 15/05/2026OBSESSION is a perfect blend of horror and humor, where the horror terrifies you and the humor has you crying from laughter. Inde Navarrette's performance is jaw-droppingly good. And the way Curry Barker uses shadows and blocking to enhance his horror feels old-school in the best way. #filmsky 140
