"Cultish: the Language of Fanaticism" by Amanda Montell is an insightful book. When people lose faith in their institutions, they are much more susceptible to cults. We're seeing this at scale. But, cults aren't necessarily bad! Montell proposes each person belong to several healthy "cults".

My poetry book, Dear Diaspora, explores the intersections of girlhood and Vietnamese diaspora💚 It follows Suzi: ripping her leg hairs out with duct tape, praying for ecstasy during Sunday mass, dreaming up a language for buried familial trauma and discovering that such a language may not exist.
