The coverup goes back to his first term That is, they consistently and gleefully quoted every outrageous lie/ fantasy/ stupid thing he said in headlines, referred to the lies as “misstatements”, and sane-washed the rest. The facts sometimes surfaced in paragraph 10. No “truth sandwich”, etc. …

Food banks also face higher food and fuel costs. We should support them, local free fridges, etc. to the extent that we can BUT we need a govt that minimizes the need for those options. VOTE accordingly!!

For years, supporters of democracy have been frustrated that Democrats leaders continue ”politics as usual” and “strongly worded letters” instead of stepping up to stop a slow coup. This sentence from @propublica.org’s recent expose of Collins may shed some light.

A screenshot of the 13th installment of a long thread posted by ProPublica on 9/22/26. It says:

“By the end of 2024, FBI agents had enough evidence to pursue a sweeping bribery probe that could ensnare top lawmakers of both political parties. They asked their supervisors to approve a new investigation.

Then Trump returned to the White House.”

I have highlighted the words “both political parties”.
