Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Watching Laterns and reading Geoff John’s GL run, I can totally see an adventure or puzzle game with Green Lanterns. Point and click with constructs as inventory? Limited use due to ring power draining. 050
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Woooo!!!! The Keeper programming team did inspiring work bring this world to life. Feel so lucky to have gotten to work with them! And oh man look at all them 1s and 0s on that award. 0211
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 04/09/2026This game is SUPER fun and hilarious. @willk3d.com and team have done an amazing job on it. One day I hope @devinks.bsky.social can talk about how he hooked up the bus movement! It's very clever! 2231
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 03/09/2026It’s out! Right now!!!! I’m excited for more folks to experience this world and story! We also do some neat stuff with the PlayStation controller. 0160
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Here's me talking to Tim about my AF pitch SPPE. Trying to figure how to use their powers and the chaotic fun that would ensue is what really excites me about this game. That and making a version of the x-men fastball special. It's gotta be silly looking right? www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT3Z...youtube.comTim Talks Super Power Performance Evaluation with Kee ChiYouTube video by Double Fine 5562
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 02/09/2026WOOOOOO!!!! Thanks everyone!!!!!! SO excited to work on any of these projects!!! 2182
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 31/08/2026AF is coming back! And there's a bunch of really amazing ideas! Please check them out! And also this is my pitch with programmer art that I've spent way too much time on. Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 21/08/2026James did an amazing job on this feature and this talk!! 090
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 30/05/2026I’m curious how these games (Metaphor, Persona, SMT) are made. What’s the engine, how are the events scripted, who on the team does what. It must be an astonishing amount of data. 280
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 30/05/2026Metaphor was an incredible game and it makes me look forward to the next Persona. The end of the game definitely keeps going…and going…and going. It does appease my procrastination brain (oh no I didn’t do that thing…OH. I HAVE TIME NOW). 040
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 26/04/2026Wooooo!!! We’ve achieved technically!!! Folks on the project created some amazing technical features to bring the world and its inhabitants to life. 1161
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Woooo launch day! HUGE congrats to the kiln team. Shipping is incredibly hard and this team has done an amazing job tackling the challenges that come along with it. I hope that folks play this game and feel the care that the team has put in crafting it for you. 0150
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 19/04/202621 years! Whoa whoa! My favorite world to work on was Waterloo World. The transitions between the different scales was fun to figure out and setting up the pieces and how they work. @erikrobson.net ‘s design for the gameplay here was amazing and I had such a blast working with him on it. 2230
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Sigh, if we find folks a year or so from now lamenting why it takes so long and so much resources to make a video game, we can most definitely point to all the recent layoffs leading to an experience drain in the industry. 1160
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 22/03/2026Ok. Enough time has gone from shipping where I feel like I could play a long game. Diving into Metaphor (I know super late), multiple hours in and I’m just waiting to level up social links. That’s in the game…right? 271
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 18/03/2026Releasing very soon! You seriously have to experience the pot making, it's so very cool. 071
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 11/03/2026Really great talk! The world artists did some magical work. The talk also shows off some neat @p1xelcoder.bsky.social tech! 170
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 08/02/2026Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work. “How…..how did this ever work?!??!” 4494
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 22/01/2026The pot making tech is incredible. I'm excited for folks to play this game and super excited for the kiln team! 2793
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 14/01/2026This is really good! I love this part youtu.be/6PIg71aayEE?... where they discuss the development of the light aiming mechanic. Senior Gameplay Programmer Keenan Patterson did a heroic job tackling this very hard problem on the programming side and Lee talks through some of the complexities here.youtu.beTelling a Story Without Words in KEEPER with Double Fine's Lee Petty | Game Maker's Notebook PodcastYouTube video by Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences 0110
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 06/01/2026OH!!! OH NO!!!! My heart....it...it cannot take it..... Also my goggles will be full......of tears..... 5934
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 05/01/2026The animation team did some awe-inspiring work on this project. This is very well deserved!!! 0160
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 23/12/2025So well deserved! Lee led the art team to craft an amazing work of art and I’m so proud of them!!! 0160
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 15/12/2025Great tips from Naoko! She’s been keeping us organized for many years!!! 030
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 26/11/2025Now, the holy grail of bug repro is if your game supports replay files and things ran in a deterministic enough way where it was attached to the bug and you have an automatic repro. We got close to that on Brutal Legend. 1150
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 26/11/2025I can't express enough how much I appreciate videos being attached to bugs. Capturing moments BEFORE the bug happens and what it looks like is almost essential these days. I remember the closest we had to that were video tapes of bugs being reproed. Otherwise you hope for really good descriptions. 0110
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 25/11/2025Where I ultimately land with the thoughts around game dev career mortality (wait that sounds too morbid), end game (better?) is that I want to make stuff with folks that like to make stuff and feel joy in the process. And maybe help others as they start their journey. 4611
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 25/11/2025I do start to think about my own game dev mortality with the number of years and titles left until my brain no longer wants to. Most can't pick and choose exactly what kind of games they want to make, it's always about situations and opportunities, so what should on look for? 0100
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 25/11/2025The thing that's odd being in this industry (for me) this long is that it's hard to see what paths there are. Many of my peers in programming have gone to other industries, and other than roles in big companies, what does a career path for a gameplay programmer about to hit 50 look like? 0100
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 25/11/2025This month marks 23 years in the game industry for me. I've been INCREDIBLY fortunate to have worked with all of the amazing folks that I've worked with, the games that I got to work on and to have had made some life long friends along the way. Truly grateful. 1318510
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 14/11/2025After being done with the shipping phase, I have the brainspace to play other games and I am blown away by HOW MANY different games are out there. You all are creating incredible stuff! The breadth of topics, genres, and big swings are inspiring. 1270
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 13/11/2025Just rolled credits on The Seance of Blake Manor and I had a wonderful time with the game. Wonderful puzzles, games, and environment and it had me fully engrossed in its world for a while. It was really important to me to save everyone that I can, and the feeling of FOMO was STRONG. 150
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 29/10/2025So cool to see what are the steps that one takes in developing a feature in a game, and Oliver is posting about the number of things that he's tried. Super interesting and he is a pixel magician. 0121
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 29/10/2025Also started the Seance of Blake manor. I usually don’t like scary stuff but the adventure game roots really pull me in. It all reminds me a bit of the Last Express. Really enjoying this one so far. 080
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 29/10/2025I am having the brain space to play a bunch of games. Been really enjoying Dispatch. The notion of an office of super heroes is near and dear to my heart and their dispatch mini game pings that part of my brain. Also love the telltale dna that’s in that game. 050
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 29/10/2025When shipping a game you go through the gamut of emotions from anxiety, excitement (and those are on a spin cycle the first couple of days) and as the dust settles it can be hard to pin down how you feel. Thinking about what you’ve built, and then slowly about what you want to build next. 0140
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 28/10/2025I want to watch history get made but I also want to sleep. 030
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 28/10/2025Wait a minute. Is baseball still baseballing?!?!! Can they all agree to take a break and start again in the morning? 030
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 17/10/2025It has incredibly joyful and inspiring working with the team on this game, and I hope all of you feel that joy when you play. I feel especially lucky to have worked with such a talented programming team that brought these pixels and gameplay to life. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDmv...youtube.comKeeper - Official Launch TrailerYouTube video by Double Fine 1763
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 17/10/2025When tomorrow comes our game will be everyone’s game. I hope you all enjoy it. As it’s been a joy to make. I’m glad we were able to make a game like this. 2301
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 16/10/2025That mullet superman story is incredible. @leepetty.bsky.social always has really interesting stories from the industry, we should make like a whole series on late 90s early 2000's game development. 0180
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 15/10/2025It’s a very odd time right before you ship a game. You go from sprinting and fixing bugs to then waiting for it to come out. It feels like you need to be doing something but it’s too close to release to really do anything. Excited but also prepped for issues to be found when the game releases. 2170
Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 15/10/2025Oh man, look at that foil, we need to put it in a nice card sleeve and get it graded! 150

Kee Chi @keescheese.bsky.social · 13/10/2025Playing this game again and it reminds me HOW many things we achieved in the span of 5 (ish?) years of development post P1. A brand new engine, whole new console generation (and multiplatform!), brand new tools and pipelines, that allowed an open world, car driving, brawling RTS multiplayer game! 1250
