Trying to walk at least 20 minutes every day, rain or shine. Rain today. This morning I found that someone had tucked a couple buckeyes behind the Buddha statue on the edge of town. Taking the time to get out into the air, breathe, and observe often overlooked details helps settle my nervous system.
Small concrete statue of Buddha surround by stines, rocks, cairns, and plants. There’s a little stone in their lap with a small heart painted on it, and another stone at the base with the word “love”. Tucked among it all are two little buckeyes or horse chestnuts.

Last night I couldn’t quiet my brain. Too distracted to read, too tired to dig into a complicated project, and not particularly compelled to wash the dinner dishes. I could’ve scrolled or turned on the tv. But instead, I colored. Thank you, Maybell! @summersdalebooks.bsky.social
A page in The Little Frog Coloring Book: A Relaxing, Mindful Journey of Color and Creativity by Maybell Eequay, published by Summersdale Publishers in London. We see an illustration of a frog, wearing chunky thigh-high boots qnd a mushroom cap for a hat, pinwheeling through a background of stars and butterflies. The boots have a pattern of little hearts on them. The illustration is partially colored by me with a few Faber-Castell Polychromos.

#artmaking has its challenges and sometimes you don’t get much done. We should always enjoy our triumphs though, when things don’t go our way. Here I am replacing a stock #planter for the shop. #art #concrete #sculpture

I’ve been using medical exam paper like a towel for cleaning up paint and dabbing surfaces to end up with even more future collage fodder! #artsky #paint #medicalexampaper #acrylic
Piece of medical exam paper with random color marks, created by cleaning up surfaces while painting. Paper on a translucent piece of plastic, creating a blurred background

When I saw Emma’s post the other day, I was certain I hadn’t seen a conker in years. And then yesterday I found this 🤎 Isn’t it amazing how humans can have a positive effect on one another in these seemingly magical ways?
My hand holding two conkers (aka horse chestnuts). One is completely enclosed in a very spiky brown shell, and the other has been cracked open, revealing a fresh seed.

Rainy festival! The community showed up with hand-warmers, extra tarps, extra weights for the tent legs, and hot herbal tea 🖤 #noreaster #northquabbin #garlicandarts #newengland
One of a group of volunteers who brewed up a large batch of warming herbal tea and went tent to tent with a wagon. There were over 100 vendors set up in a field surrounded by trees.

We’re one of over a hundred vendors setting up today, hoping the nor’easter doesn’t hit this far inland
Tents set up in a field in north central Massachusetts. A backdrop of tall trees, with just a tinge of autumn color. A single red vehicle with its back hatch up. Clouds have just moved in and the wind is picking up.

Collab in progress. Making art is even more fun with friends 🙂🙂 #artsky #collage #printmaking #stamping
A few dozen collage-style prints made with a pile of thrifted rubber stamps. Each piece is a little smaller than 5x7. On both hot pressed and cold pressed watercolor paper. Elements include: birds, a bike, an old typewriter, squeezy honey bear bottle, floral patterns, script writing, a lighthouse. Retro and vintage themes, mostly.
