I was originally thinking something like this but I might prefer the first, kind of unbalanced one (here: bsky.app/profile/made...) #sketchbook #mixedmedia #abstract #artsky #digitalart #traditionalart

Got real into cardboard texture plates tonight! Gel prints on deli or copy paper. Last pictures have cardboard pieces. Started with design from Susan Clifton and went from there (link below) #gelprint #monoprint #gelplate #gelliplate #paintedpaper #artplay #artpractice #artsky #collagepaper

#Mixedmedia #collage Oct 5, 2026 Pleased with this one! I’ve been doing random experiments lately but felt happier going with collage here. Composition-wise there are things I could improve for next time. #sketchbook #art #abstract #artplay #artpractice #artsky

Mixed media abstract with collage. Background of orange and yellow overlayed with faint navy and red lines. Foreground has black scribbles and blocky lines on top of white blobs in middle third

Two recent #mixedmedia #sketchbook pages. The first one got away from me so fast but I don’t hate it. Second one I left to dry and I’m not sure where to take it next. #collage #art #abstract #artpractice #artplay #artsky

WIP x2, zero plans for what I’m doing or where it’s heading! I’m getting so much glare from the window and/or desk lights that it’s hard to see the colors. Maybe this is why some people work on an easel 😅 #mixedmedia #abstract #artplay #artpractice #artsky

More ink resist #artplay Wanted to keep it simple and use the first two stencils I touched. Which means this is a busy mess but I still learned from it Progress pics below #gouache #acrylic #ink #goodvibes #mixedmedia #artprocess

Impulsive art play. I gave gouache and ink resist another go (tried before, didn’t like it) This time also testing ink resist over acrylic. See alt text for details I should have expected the acrylic to stay vibrant but I was pleasantly surprised! #artplay #mixedmedia #stencils #artsky

@darykjozef.bsky.social it’s specifically the Daler Rowney yellow ochre fluid acrylic! I did a test with that, Liquitex, Blick, and Grumbacher. Let it dry for an hour, yellow cracked as soon as I moved the plate. The other colors didn’t. Pics in thread #gelplate #fluidacrylic #acrylicpaint

Trying to give myself time for grieving because I’ve been pushing it away lately. But I had to pick up husband from the mechanic and guess who got a nail in their tire along the way? Back to the shop to get my car looked at too. On the day I made my last car payment. Of course!

A wee bit of art time to test out tissue paper (bottom) and medical exam paper layers (top) over super random #collage papers I’m surprised that I kind of like the way the tissue can build up shapes vs the MEP. But I can see ways I might use either or both together #sketchbook #artsky

Having a sad few days because I’m coming up on a year since my brother died. I keep rewriting posts about it but the point is we’re all people, it’s normal to be extra sensitive around these moments. Be kind. Anyway, here’s Wonderwall… I mean, paint layer build up #grief #loss #artsky #color

I thought I could use up old acrylic paint to try out this technique of layering paint and alcohol drops. The craft paints look sad compared to my nicer ones. They’re so dull and chalky, I’m not sure it’s worth trying to salvage them into something #summerstashbust #artsky #collagepaper
