gamedev sounds like it's gonna be making cool mechanics and fun stuff nobody tells you that it's also going to be -swapping in a new font for 2 hours -figuring out if you can delete an object in your hierarchy (you can't) -testing the same thing 50 times to fix a bug

I think it's probably worth being mindful of how much of a toll it can take on your body physically to manually type out every letter in your code. As someone who tends not to rely on autocomplete as much as I should - I have had days where I've had to stop coding because of strain on my hands.

Appreciate the feedback! Agree with your points here. I'll probably need to do another round of sound effects at some point so can make sure it being a more prominent sound is a priority. Could also maybe look at like.. adding some kind of effect along the edges of the drawing border?

Players have been saying that it's a bit hard to tell how much time is left. I've shifted the timer to be closer to the sheet, made it bigger and added text showing how much time is left. Hoping this helps? Anyone have any suggestions for other potential improvements? #gamedev #indiegames

sweet beautiful log file 😭 so much more human readable than Unity's PlayerLog lol.

It's a screenshot of a text file showing a bunch of messages that have been written to a log file that record different moments during the game. Normally, Unity's log files have a lot of detail in terms of where the line of code was executed, but it makes the log file a lot harder to read at a glance and to figure out the sequence of things. I'm hoping this detail being stored will help with troubleshooting bugs that pop up that are hard to replicate due to networking issues.

There's a lot of moments like this where things can go wrong in terms of managing client/server state if someone is running slower than another player or if there's a bug and someone can't reach a specific point in the game. I need to make the game more resilient in these situations.

Big thing I'm focusing on right now is trying to make the networking handling a bit more stable. I just implemented a pause to help me desync the gamestate between host/client. This helped me to test if the gamestate syncs properly if I need to force a transition. #gamedev #indiegames

I think about that sort of thing a lot I've had some people tell me that they got a few of my videos in a row - I think if someone likes your stuff, they're likely to get hit by you again and I'd feel bad giving them the same thing multiple times? Also I might go crazy not making something new lol
