As I always say, we can never forget that he was married to Kimberly Guilfoyle before her engagement to Trump Junior.

#WIPWednesday Week 7 Progress: Missed a couple of weeks, but I’m almost finished. Bad news is I’ll probably lose at yarn chicken. Good news is I can take from the body hem which I need to reknit anyway. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky

My 50th high school reunion is in a couple of weeks. I’m almost glad I can’t go if this sort of crap could happen.

Look at all the people, men and women, defending the Cornell 7 by quoting New York State law about giving consent when voluntarily drunk. Do you think they’re going to see anything wrong with a senior advisor telling a graduate researcher, “Let’s talk about your research over drinks tonight.“

There are way too many very successful romance writers who write way too close to the rape line for me. I just can’t fathom women wanting to read that for pleasure.

I use the analogy of watching a recorded football game. The game is already been played, a team has already won, but you just don’t know the outcome yet, because you haven’t watched the game. Those votes have already been cast. Just because you haven’t counted them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

What, you mean you like not seeing the same 20 videos about knitting “hacks” or knitting “hot takes” or “here’s what I knit this year”…?

I got into it with someone about AI when he insisted it would be fine if we just regulated it. I pointed out all the laws AI companies were already breaking. The lengths to which people will go to avoid admitting they’re just lazy asses who want their work to be easier, not better.

Oh, and I’m also playing yarn chicken math to decide if I can add a thick white stripe at the bottom and how long I can make the sleeves based on how cropped I make the sweater. 🧶🧮

#WIPWednesday Week 4 progress: I was I little further on the body, but then decided I didn’t like how much it stretched, one reason I don’t like to knit on big (size 8) needles with Aran yarn. Ripped back, adding decreases, and stepping down needle size. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky #ShowMeYourKnits

Very valid reason for a preferring YouTube over printed directions. I personally prefer well done step-by-step written directions combined with pictures. I find the videos very often go too quickly for me. I’ll also take a lace chart over row-by-row written directions any day.

My mom how me how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off. I didn’t have a community that knit, so it was all books for me.

I get a kick out of knitfluencer videos that ask, “How did you learn to knit before the internet?!?” Books, baby, books. I fucking read. I would go into B&N every couple of months and browse the latest books and magazines while drinking coffee for a couple of hours. 🧶📖 #Knitting #KnitSky

I also now understand why knitfluencers like to knit stockinette stitch on bulky yarn. It goes really fast! Of course, this yarn has about 20 stitches per square inch while the light fingering tank I did in May and June had about 50. This is 240 stitches per round for the body; the tank was 360!

#WIPWednesday Week 3 progress: I have achieved sleeve separation! Colorwork roses are also done. The rest is just thick blue and thin white stripes. Don’t love how I can see where I increased in the top white stripes, but knit and learn. Bottom ones are better. #Knitting #KnitSky #ShowMeYourKnits
Photo of an in-progress knitting project. It is a blue and white sweater with a horizontal band of roses on the yoke with thick blue and thin white stripes above and below. The photo shows half of the sweater including the top of the sleeve shortly after separation from the body. Yarn is Phoenix by Ella Rae and the pattern is based on the Rosie Yoke sweater by Lene Holme Samsøe.

In fact, you’re one of the few people I’ve seen who hold your yarn the same way I do, over your forefinger and then wrapped around your ring finger. Did my mom teach you how to knit too? 😁

It’s funny, I just saw a video on Instagram of someone saying the same thing. She was looking for a saddle shoulder all over cable cardigan. I’m going to look up some of the suggestions she’s been getting, because that sounds lovely!

#WIPWednesday Week 2 progress: I’m about 2/3 through the roses. Still not a fan of colorwork. Aran weight yarn and 5 mm needles seem huge! My sweet spot is fingering on a 3.5 mm. My mid-Oct. finish date is totally doable. I knit that collar three times before I was happy. 🧶 #Knitting #KnitSky
Photo of an in progress knitted sweater project. It is a top down, circular yolk sweater in navy blue and white. It has a wide crewneck collar, wide blue stripes separated by narrow white stripes, and then a horizontal border of roses and leaves in a vine design. Background is a bluish gray knitted blanket.

I use voice to text which never gets “stockinette stitch” correct. This time it put “stuck in that stitch“ which was oddly appropriate.

Plus, the patterns tend to be blocky and with drop shoulders everywhere. It’s easy to tear through row after row of stockinette stitch when you don’t have to worry about counting for decreases, shaping an armhole, or doing a set in sleeve.
