And now, migrating my discs to be digital also, I just tried a Series-only game in the original Xbox. And... It works! Can't play in the system of course, but it recognizes the disc and allows a license claim. So if that works for you, no need for a friend's Series if you only have driveless!

In the end I'm the person least likely to benefit from this. I have 9 Xbox consoles over 4 generations and can play any game on various TVs and monitors in my setup. But in modern gaming I am so appreciative of any step to create value out of physical game collecting and to make it more accessible.

1) You can sell a physical game. Seeing the value of physical games rising immensely after becoming "retro", this alone makes it worthwhile. 2) Digital games are only good as long as the distributing service remains online. It's best to consider them a long-term rental. Physical games don't expire.

And the digital rights are not locked forever; someone else can use the disc to transfer the digital copy to a new account if ever wanting to lend, give, or sell the game. Also, some games are cross-compatible with PC. Find Balatro supercheap for Xbox One? Make a license and play on Windows.

So someone with an Xbox One only can get a cheaper Xbox Series S or X without a disc drive and still collect physical Xbox One media, using the One to create a digital download to play on the Series with all enhancements, and perhaps use a friend's Series X with a disc drive for Series discs.

Anyone with a Microsoft account can log in to any Xbox with a disc drive, insert a disc, and claim that disc ownership. This creates digital ownership of the game so that it can be freely downloaded and played on any system under that account. The disc can be put on the shelf from that point.

While PlayStation is trying to phase out physical discs to have people move to digital downloads and rights to play a game, last month Microsoft updated all Xbox One and Series consoles to provide a motivation/benefit to purchase physical games over digital.

Hitachi city. It's supporting my original trainer who is running an event to support people facing challenges in life. 30 minutes of three wrestling matches but more time for little kids who are bullied by peers having kickboxing matches, and headlined by a mentally challenged singer/songwriter.

Starting training in 2011, the goal was just one match in front of a paying crowd. 15 years and 200 matches later, at my age and loss of popularity, the goal is just at least one per year until I physically can't do it. After an injury spell, I now learned the streak continues next Sunday.

With Mr. Donut raising prices I'm surprised everyone isn't celebrating the beauty of Jack in the Donuts. This is a toffee and Biscotti tea old fashioned that's just 250 yen. (Of course the best donuts in Japan are Happy Donut in Mobara but there's a line out the door and it's a 2 hour drive for me)

In the plans to pass the diet this year is a 10-20x increase in visa fees in Japan. Renewal/status change to be 70000 yen. Permanent residence application to be 200000-300000 yen. Not so impactful for me personally but passing it along in case anyone with the capacity to apply soon can do so.

Also decent chips and salsa are in almost every well stocked food store. Young people will usually have had good exposure to Mexican food so this is much more reflecting his age than this culture and understanding. It's similar to an elderly American eating "sushi" of can tuna on long grain rice 😂

To be fair you can't get American cheese here These seem to be QBB slice cheese cheddar blend but perhaps another brand Great Mexican food is available in Japan much like great Japanese food in America at least when I was there. It exists and you find your favorite spot. Mine is "Mike's"

That's in Ikspiari, the shopping mall attached to Tokyo Disney! I go often as the Ikspiari credit card gives me free parking😅 It's fun, low cost, and decent, but I admit I don't go often... Ikspiari has many specialty restaurants that offer food I love but not common in Japan like meatball subs 😁

So wistful! In Japan those are the "typical 11" that Virtual Boy collectors can find for reasonable prices and the EXACT games I had for years and years until deciding to put some effort into getting more a couple of years ago, now adding Space Squash, Fishing, and Innsmouth. Just 3 more to go...
