Can’t blame MEA on this one. MEA is next week. That’s just a frustrated mom with a kid not in school.

And if you do catch something and don’t vote early, you can use curbside voting and not enter the polling place and spread it around.

Minneapolis also has parking meters within 30 feet of a stop signs/lights, which indicate you CAN park there. Or "Two hour parking signs" with arrows showing that the two hour parking starts 5 feet from a stop sign/light. Which makes it very confusing for drivers. an example at 34th and 50th

a 1 hour parking sign showing you can park within 8 feet or so from a stop light.

It might be a little capitalist-pilled, but only for the birth-2 year olds. Once 3, kids benefit greatly from preschool and being around peers. Even though my husband was (mostly) a SAHP, we still sent our daughter to preschool part time and even the affordable choice is expensive.

Costco has them, but I don't know if they are out yet. Columbia has an outlet store in Eagan and there are often good ones there, but I don't know what current selection looks like. Lands End is more expensive, but they have a sale right now. Stores have limited selection, so online is the way.

The WORST. We've had a string of smoke detectors that have had false alarms at random times. I thought the house was haunted for a while.

If they want money from adults, offer adult things. I’ll 100% pay for 20 minutes on a massage chair like they have at the mall. Or a latte or bubble tea. But not admission, that’s BS.

A state of MN job for a Child Welfare SME. Experience needs to include experience with the child welfare system.

Listen: I don’t want to minimize the danger of high e-bike speeds. But if the problem here is that stores sell e-bikes that can drive faster than legal limits, then where’s the story about how literally *every car dealership has been doing the same thing for decades*?!?

I'm an audiobook person and I'm always at max holds on Libby plus another 20 books with a To Read tag. My mental calculation is do I want this taking a hold spot for the next 9 months? Or do I want to save it for something I might get faster?

They are mostly pre registered. They do a voter registration drive. They also mostly vote early through facility early vote events. Many nursing homes do those too. People bend over backwards to make sure every veteran votes. (I used to work there, so I know the commitment of staff.)

KC @kcmpls.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

There was a problem with the Minneapolis Veteran’s Home residents being the only housed residents in a precinct. Because of the nature of the home, there was no way for residents to interact with the homeless in the park, so there was literally no one who could vouch. It is no longer a precinct.

Don’t people under the age of 40 know what I mean when I say “they taught themselves to code and got hired to do Y2K stuff?” I just found myself saying it and realized young people might not realize how big a deal the Y2K was and how so many art majors became software developers.

Also, have someone ready to come vouch for you if you can. We probably all should be talking to neighbors about how we can vouch for each other here in Minnesota on election day.

They always f up their budgets. They do a thing where they decide they need IT folks, hire them, then lay them off a year later. I've seen it happen at least three times. People leave MNIT for the jobs, then can't get back to a MNIT job because its a different agency so seniority doesn't count

Working at Hennepin County around 2002 we would get $5 Guthrie tickets, which was all I could afford. I had friends working at the MN Orchestra who gave me free tickets there. Now that I have more money, I support these places and others. Free tickets are the gateway drug to subscription packages.

Talk to your city council person about putting restrictions on patio use with their next liquor license renewal. Many bars aren't allowed patrons on patios after 10pm, especially those in residential neighborhoods.

Let's not forget that charter schools are also union busters. They bring down the general wages for all teachers and staff across the State. And many have financial fraud occurring. And some are de facto religious schools using public dollars.
