“One is about to croak”

True, “Build back better” contained a verb. And I completely forgot this forgettable slogan. But yes, your larger point is spot-on.

TheMessage™ always turns out to be pointless anyway. Vague, hand-wavy, content-free pabulum. “MAGA” at least contains a verb. It’s a call to action. It made people able to feel like they were Doing A Thing for themselves, and like they were part of Something, not just supporting a corporation.

I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree completely there. It's the business' job to decide how much they want to spend on tokens. It's IT's job to punch the numbers into the box on the form. The business owns the number, and the budget for how to get there. IT provides services to achieve it.

Last month, I literally had two emails in my inbox next to each other - one exhorting me to try and find new ways to use Claude or Copilot, the other begging me to please find ways to minimize my token usage. "Leadership" is all in on AI psychosis, but we are the ones suffering from it.

A group with its own resources is more self-reliant than one without. Let’s not get hung up on semantics. Don’t neglect defensive planning. If you have resources when others don’t, you may not have them for long unless you have the means to dissuade them from taking your stuff. And Vote Blue

Well, hopefully you’ve been doing a lot of these things already; building community, planting a vegetable garden, making new connections, empowering others to become more resilient and self-reliant, etc. If you’re so inclined, you might also build stocks of water, non-perishable foods, and weapons.

Counterpoint: naïvety, complacency and denial will not save us. If you really think this administration will be constrained by niceties like SCOTUS’ opinions, tradition and convention, then you have not been paying attention. “VOTE!!!” cannot be the whole of our plan.

I do, and I am. But your notion that a broken system can be fixed from within by participating in that same broken system is contrary to the experience of every other country that has tried it. We have to vote, but “vote hard” cannot be the whole of our plan.

“Democracy” is an abstract concept and does not represent the reality of the system we have in US politics. The US’ flawed implementation of democracy has been rigged and broken mostly by the GOP. We need to deal with reality. The distinction you are drawing is irrelevant.

I am not advocating for “civil war”, but given that I think we both acknowledge it is in the realm of possibilities; arms can be used in a defensive capacity. The reflexive dismissal of buying a gun as “a very stupid idea” and assumption I’m rooting for civil war is, itself, a very stupid idea.

Our plan is to wear matching pink hats and carry (discreet) ping-pong paddles that say “Less facism (sic) please!”. If that doesn’t work, we’ll bring out the big guns - papier mâché heads and drum circles.

I don’t have a foolproof plan for stopping the fascist takeover, but I can still call out bad ideas. At some point, you have to realize that you cannot fix a rigged and broken system by working from within it. We have the Second Amendment for a reason. Exercise your right while you still can.

I remember hearing Michelle Obama saying “When they go low, we go high” and realizing it was as trite, flatulent and inane as a parent telling their bullied kid that “bullies are just looking for attention” and that “if you ignore them, they’ll go away”. It has never worked and never will.

Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
Yeah, but that would have made Biden look like he was doing a politics.

Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
Garland would have been a disaster on the SCOTUS too, but in the other direction. “Optics” would magically not have mattered anymore. The fact we’re bemoaning the fact that Obama didn’t manage to get a FedSoc stooge onto SCOTUS should tell you all you need to know about US politics.

Having a plan to distribute “an envelope” might not be impossible, but executing it will be. Heritage has been plotting this for forty years.

Great! So they can sit on their thumbs for the next seven weeks!

Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
JFC not this kumbaya bullshit again, please. Tell us more about your friends across the aisle and how they just have different opinions on a few things and how we should all just get along and oh, if it’s not too much trouble, do you think they could maybe start following the Constitution again?

Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
So you’re saying all that every state has to do in the next 9 weeks is stand up a fully funded and operating replacement for the US Postal Service? Or are you suggesting they shovel billions and billions of taxpayer dollars to FedEx and UPS?

Seventy five days ago we said good riddance to a turtle and a terrible human being, Mitch McConnell. His actions as a Congressman reminded us how much contempt and hatred he had for his constituents and everyone except his donors.

> Kentuckians are some of the kindest, most caring people you’ll ever meet. Mitch McConnell opposed major medical and family leave proposals across several decades, and Kentucky kept electing him. So kind, so caring.

I recently heard all right-wing commentary described as “loudly misunderstanding things”, and I can’t stop thinking about it. As for Mr Y … stupid is as stupid does

How much did you get from Mitch? Should have been the whole 10 units, since he’s not using it anymore.

Playing footsie with fascists is not the endearing and charming anecdote you seem to think it is. And no, I don’t find it surprising in the slightest.
000
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 13/08/2026
Cool. Where’s Mitch? Why aren’t you harping on Mitch’s absence every single day? Why are you normalizing this deeply abnormal behavior? Do you think you’re playing 5D-chess with the Republicans? Do you think you are “above it all”? Or that mentioning it would be rude? What’s going on, Andy?
000
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 13/08/2026
And then he’ll write a stern letter!
020
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 28/07/2026
Andy finally put on his big boy pants and demanded that Mitch either release a video, or resign. Of course, there’s no timeline associated, so he’s still giving the R’s the opportunity to drag their feet and dog-walk Andy into handing them yet another freebie. Make a fist, Andy. Be a leader.
201
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
Where’s Mitch, Andy? Do your job. Replace him now. If the parties were reversed, do you imagine for a second they wouldn’t have already rammed in their chosen candidate? By doing nothing, you are handing the R’s a huge gift. Your presumption of regularity from the R’s is near psychotic. Wake up.

So we could either join a party that already exists, has momentum, and is full of like-minded people, orrrrr we could spend years trying to infiltrate and reform a party of centrist liberals who are actively trying to deny and suppress leftist voices. What to do, what to do.
010
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
Where’s Mitch McConnell, Andy? Ask yourself - what would a Republican governor do in your situation? Stop dithering. Stop trying to find ways to “reach across the aisle”. Stop playing nice-nice and Do. Your. Job.

206,000 > 57,000 “Here’s why that’s bad for Democrats”

Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
Dems before the election: FASCISM! TREASON! RESIST! Dems after the election: This is fine. Everything is fine. NYT is a right wing rag cosplaying as a middle of the road liberal rag.

Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 28/06/2026
Because he is as crass, vulgar, stupid and bigoted as his “fans”, so they identify with him, but he’s also wildly successful (in their eyes) and his very existence pisses off normal people, so they love him. He says and does the execrable things they only dream of saying and doing. TL;DR racism
000
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 28/06/2026
And yet here we are. So long as liberal institutions are still in the sitting around and sputtering with indignation phase, nothing will happen. “This is preposterous!” they say. “This isn’t allowed!” “They don’t have the power to do that!” and then the president does the disallowed thing.
010
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 28/06/2026
I’ll throw a party when the Left kicks all the corporate Democrats, centrist Liberals and “former” Republicans like you to the curb. The Lincoln Project is a rehabilitation program to make Republicans electable again when Trump and MAGA die of natural causes.
000
Ken @kcds.bsky.social · 28/06/2026
You’re right. The blue vote tallies will be off the charts! So the R’s will say “These vote counts are fraudulent!” and ignore them. D’s pout. The NYT will lead with “Republicans claim total victory in massive landslide” but a third sub-head will admit that “some experts express doubts”. The End.
