Read a lot of stuff about what should happen to City but I'm more interested in how they managed to break the rules for such an inordinate period of time without any sanctions, I want to know who knew what & when they knew, then I want to see heads roll. City did it but others surely allowed it.

As an Everton fan in my early 50s it is unlikely that I will ever see us win the league again. The same could be said for about 75% of the teams in the premier league and 100% for those lower down the football pyramid. The question is - is football worth it anymore?

It's ridiculous that Moyes is allowed to manage our squad in the way that he does. Many of our genuine 'other 14' competitors do that better than he does. Top-flight football is a squad game. I'm not sure he gets that..he certainly didn't last season.

The Guardian joins the campaign to abolish the state pension triple-lock. Portrays it as a old v young, social security v defence spending issue. Silence on corporate welfare, tax perks of the rich, maldistribution of wealth, low govt spend on state pension, how future retirees will survive.

Trevor Steven is my favourite Everton player, a brilliant footballer who never wasted the ball Superb on the right, and versatile enough to play well in the centre or even on the left of midfield. Im sure he played as a striker once as well 63 today, an incredibly underrated and special player
