It’s disheartening to see how obliviously out of touch Level 5’s CEO Akihiro Hino is regarding the AI backlash. I was really looking forward to the new Layton game, but interest has waned since their last two Vision showcases to the point where I just don’t want to buy their games anymore.

Crazy Direct Prediction: Nintendo Room. A free/cheap online game that simulates a virtual living room across different console eras, that you can decorate with posters from games of the time, set up old systems and play with their boot-up/menu screens. Launching a game will load NSO to play it.

Wacky guesses: it’s time for a new Wario Land, or a big new 3D game starring Bowser. Maybe a new NSO system- DS or Wii games. Not sure how they’d be implemented without expensive peripherals… I hope Splatoon and Star Fox don’t take up too much time, we already know enough about those games IMO.

The June direct is the most exciting time of the year! I have no safe bet predictions, all of Nintendo’s popular franchises have been covered on Switch 2 except 3D Mario and Zelda. I’m ready for some wacky surprises. Hoping for Metroid Prime 2 HD and localisation of the Goemon collection.

As someone who has completed #DonkeyKong64 to 100% at least three times, my best advice is to avoid buying any homing or zoom scope upgrades from Funky until after you’ve completed the mechanical fish puzzle in Gloomy Galleon. The scope will prevent you from being able to complete the puzzle!

More Luigi screen time = more Charlie Day and the experience was overall better for it. His delivery of the best joke in the film had the cinema laughing out loud. The score was great, I kept expecting pop songs to take over and was repeatedly, happily surprised when they didn’t. I’d see it again!

Stewed for a couple of days, and I can say clearly that the Galaxy movie is the better of the two. The animation and style is superb with quick snappy action that seem better choreographed than the first. Writing was funnier, acting was much better, I heard Mario and Bowser, not Pratt and Black!

I’ve seen them used in a UK SNES guidebook magazine from 1993, “Complete A-Z Super NES Games”, by Paragon Publishing. I have it packed away in storage somewhere, I can check if there’s any original artist credited inside. They also look eerily similar to off-brand art used in 90s colouring books.

Puzzles are sometimes obvious but solutions often don’t trigger until the character attempts to “fail” them until she gets the idea to pick up the right item at the right time. There is some cool art but the 2D puppet animation is a little wonky, and it requires three plays to unlock everything.

Played SENSE 不祥的预感: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story 100%, which promised to be a 2.5D Clock Tower like with Fatal Frame elements. Instead it’s more like a point and click full of obtuse puzzles. I love haunted house stories and I see the vision, but quality is wildly inconsistent and I can’t recommend it.

Finished Mario & Luigi Brothership from my backlog. What a charming game! Beautiful art and animation that captures the feel of the older games. Fun Bros. moves, interesting story with cool villains, even the sidekick and supporting cast are cute and funny. The series lives strong.

I would happily accept a straight port of the old Fatal Frame trilogy, the PS2 jank adds charm and spookiness. I’m one of the few who loved Castlevania 64, both versions, and the PS2 games are lost media. Heck, even a modern way to play Lords of Shadow, they could do a trilogy with the 3DS game!

Effort to payout ratio is minuscule. Rifts have abysmal time limits unless you dump all your good berries, then you need to go grind for some more! Rifts need to be re-rolled for HOURS for a chance of the one you want, not even counting the late game special rifts. My time is not respected at all.

There is way, way too much grinding. Grind small rifts for berries to access better rifts for better berries. Gamble good berries for a tiny chance to get the donut with the stats you want. Don’t like the donut you got? Use the secret hidden menu option to load your last backup, or just grind more!

I’d probably be the first person to defend Pokemon Legends Z-A, but man is it tough to recommend the DLC. Cool concept of space-time rifts and weird alternate dimensions with new monsters. Cool extra story with deepened lore into the characters’ backstories and the world. But oh, SO. MUCH. RNG.
