It’s disheartening to see how obliviously out of touch Level 5’s CEO Akihiro Hino is regarding the AI backlash. I was really looking forward to the new Layton game, but interest has waned since their last two Vision showcases to the point where I just don’t want to buy their games anymore.

Crazy Direct Prediction: Nintendo Room. A free/cheap online game that simulates a virtual living room across different console eras, that you can decorate with posters from games of the time, set up old systems and play with their boot-up/menu screens. Launching a game will load NSO to play it.

Time for crazy Direct predictions again! Nintendo DS on NSO: only compatible with an official joycon attachment and/or console stand that lets you play with the screen tilted vertically. With a slot-in DS stylus. 3DS games available for Expansion Pack but no 3D functionality.

Wacky guesses: it’s time for a new Wario Land, or a big new 3D game starring Bowser. Maybe a new NSO system- DS or Wii games. Not sure how they’d be implemented without expensive peripherals… I hope Splatoon and Star Fox don’t take up too much time, we already know enough about those games IMO.

The June direct is the most exciting time of the year! I have no safe bet predictions, all of Nintendo’s popular franchises have been covered on Switch 2 except 3D Mario and Zelda. I’m ready for some wacky surprises. Hoping for Metroid Prime 2 HD and localisation of the Goemon collection.

As someone who has completed #DonkeyKong64 to 100% at least three times, my best advice is to avoid buying any homing or zoom scope upgrades from Funky until after you’ve completed the mechanical fish puzzle in Gloomy Galleon. The scope will prevent you from being able to complete the puzzle!

Stewed for a couple of days, and I can say clearly that the Galaxy movie is the better of the two. The animation and style is superb with quick snappy action that seem better choreographed than the first. Writing was funnier, acting was much better, I heard Mario and Bowser, not Pratt and Black!

Played SENSE 不祥的预感: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story 100%, which promised to be a 2.5D Clock Tower like with Fatal Frame elements. Instead it’s more like a point and click full of obtuse puzzles. I love haunted house stories and I see the vision, but quality is wildly inconsistent and I can’t recommend it.

Finished Mario & Luigi Brothership from my backlog. What a charming game! Beautiful art and animation that captures the feel of the older games. Fun Bros. moves, interesting story with cool villains, even the sidekick and supporting cast are cute and funny. The series lives strong.

I’d probably be the first person to defend Pokemon Legends Z-A, but man is it tough to recommend the DLC. Cool concept of space-time rifts and weird alternate dimensions with new monsters. Cool extra story with deepened lore into the characters’ backstories and the world. But oh, SO. MUCH. RNG.

Everyone’s saying that Close to You thing is obviously teasing a Pikmin project. Low-hanging fruit if you ask me. Crackpot Andrew says the baby is Illumination Peach from the second movie, before stumbling into the Mushroom Kingdom and becoming their princess. The other stuff is all a red herring!

Switch 2 thoughts so far: - The system is solidly built. Everything feels sturdier and higher quality than the previous system. - I love that the System Transfer really does cover everything; all user profiles, friends, games, DLC, current menu theme, current settings. No fiddling with selections.

The red plastic gives the coloured insert art a strange horror vibe. The plastic of the cases feels thinner and a little flimsier than Switch 1 cases. I assume it’s to conserve plastic, which is okay I guess?

I just realised the #Zelda TotK trailer themes are included in the NSO music app. This makes me happy beyond words; the buildup and last minute or so of that “Third Trailer” score honestly makes me tear up. It’s little bonuses like this that more than make the NSO subscription worthwhile for me.

So the NSO GameCube controller (understandably) features a C button. Makes me wonder if they’ll redo any older controllers to feature the button; especially the NES one with an actual USBC port and none of those silly Joy Con rails.
