I saw some NPCs talking near the bank about how split they are on whether peace can happen, which makes sense. But residents going "I know the planet is still in danger but the danger isn't immediately visible from my window anymore so gtfo loser" makes... less sense.

I feel like I'm getting more snarky comments from Silvermoon Residents after 12.1. They're insulting my priest now where it was just guards yelling at my warlock before. I wonder if this was put in to try to appease the Faction Conflict Enjoyers or if it's just more flavor.

It's a small thing by itself, but by then I'd already suspected that maybe her teaching style and my learning style didn't mesh, and that kind of solidified it. What do I say to that? I had a chance to explain my trouble and got "lol nah" in response, so... okay!

One of my math teachers. It's a subject I struggled with a lot in high school. One day I was doing a test retake during lunch and she asked me what I was having trouble with. I told her that I had trouble memorizing the formulas, and she said, "No you don't."

My most popular book is ~800 pages/~350,000 words, with a companion novel around the same size, plus other stuff. There's definitely a lot of people out there who don't just like but specifically search for the big ones! (Myself included because hell yeah give me a BIG WORLD)

People who are mad that anyone gets along in WoW instead of there being another faction war remind me of the Jeff Dunham bit about NASCAR. "They're making an expac where the Horde and Alliance fight! They're making an expac where the Horde and Alliance fight! I wonder what they're gonna do next!!!"

You aren't ahead of the curve. You don't have superior critical thinking skills to everyone else. Your process was not justified. You were lucky. This was a multiple choice question and you happened to fill in the right bubble.

030

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 26/04/2026

How someone arrives at an answer is often more important to me than the answer itself. If someone just opens their mouth and spits out something like a PEZ dispenser, then claims victory if reality later lines up with what they said, then no.

120

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 26/04/2026

The lesson to take from that wasn't that I actually made no mistakes and that my whole process was retroactively justified. It was that if I applied that same process to the rest of the math problems I'd get most of them wrong.

120

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 26/04/2026

But you weren't. You weren't right. You were lucky. I did this in math, too. I got responses from teachers saying, "I honestly have no idea how you got the right answer because you made a bunch of mistakes in your work."

120

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 26/04/2026

People will just say things. Especially online. They'll just say random stuff. Just open their mouth and *bloop* out comes a thought. And occasionally what they say will later turn out to match with reality. And they'll point to that and say, "Ha! You see? I was right. I was right the entire time."

120

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 26/04/2026

But then I grew up and saw the way some people think and make decisions. And I get it now.

120

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 26/04/2026

Some rambling about thinking and discourse. I used to get so mad in math class when my teachers said, "Even if the answer is right, unless you show your work, I'll mark it wrong. You must show your work." That frustrated me. If getting the right answer wasn't the point, what was I even trying for?

130

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 25/04/2026

Me: Hmm, I need to get into the left lane. There's a lil space here. I think I will turn on my blinker. Everyone in the left lane going back two miles, already pushing their accelerator to the floor:

This is more frustration at leadership than anything, but it's clear those at the top will only ever respond to numbers and nothing else.

010

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 24/04/2026

I saw their apology post and, meh. Same "we'll learn from this" as always. Like genuinely if I wasn't a guild leader or have the communities I do, the odds of me unsubscribing would be very high. There's just so, so many bugs in so many different things and I hate in any way encouraging this.

120

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 23/04/2026

I'm not privy to the company's inner workings but all I can imagine is that some exec got too high, heard the word "downtime" from another room, had a panic attack, and is now determined to Add More Things. They don't need to WORK, we just need to have them in the game.

010

Kay Solo @kaysolo.com · 23/04/2026

Midnight's patch cadence seems unsustainable. 12.0.5 is even more buggy than usual, which is saying something. Key features of the patch aren't working. Housing was broken and now "just" buggy, some classes were badly messed up. But hey, we can play hide and seek as a couch now! So glad for that!
