A little somethin-somethin’ (One session in, gotta let the paint rest and harden up before I keep going because it’s lifting here and there in defiance)

Update on paintings! My gallerist’s feedback was that it’s hard to sell pieces with lots of loud pinks/magentas — which is cowardly but fair! The tall one WAS looking a bit vaporwave, and my gallery is in NC not Florida. And I like it even better now. Egg tempera on panel, 24x24 and 24x36 inches.

I passed this tree in the mist not to far from my home in Vermont, slammed on the brakes, and reversed on the road to get a picture before the light changed. Don’t worry, it’s Vermont. Nobody else was there. #mist #fae #unseelie #tree #willow #otherworld

Hello Bluesky, I’ve been feeling slightly vulnerable with art lately, I’m determined to follow my passions of painting but struggling to exist in a sea of wonderfully talented people & a little lost where to go. Here is my tiny painting of a lovely fruitcrow though, I hope you like it 🩵 #birds #art

A watercolour of the head of a predominantly black and purple bird named a bare-necked fruitcrow

As cool as Erika’s multicolored ballpoint drawings look on a screen? They’re exponentially better in person. Gotta get me one someday.

Wish more people realised that for most art businesses, there's only one person doing all the work. Creating, shipping, admin, promotion, starting feuds with other artists, painting unflattering portraits of them into historical scenes, trying to poison them, it's all one person.

Athene Oil on panel, 12x16 inches A intentionally peaceful Athene (Athena) — relaxed and at rest, her helm and spear at hand but not in use. Olive branches are scattered around, one tied to her spear. The inscriptions behind her are some of her various epithets in Ancient Greek. 🌿

Painting of the goddess Athene (Athena) with an owl on her shoulder, leaning against a wall inscribed with her various titles in Ancient Greek. Her helmet is on the ground beside her and an olive branch is tied to her spear for peace.

Did a very little plein air (oil on copper) Looks like a party on my palette but that’s from previous sessions, this one was 4 colors and about 30 minutes (And don’t worry I see the couple of draftsmanship errors I need to fix, plein air purism be damned)

A thread about the Pomegranate design in my pendant and pin Kickstarter (which is now funded and ending in less than 3 days!). The pomegranate is one of the most iconic plants from Greek mythology, thanks to our perennial fascination with the story of Persephone and Hades.

Hey y’all, I’m running a kickstarter~ Real-world flowers and fruits from Greek mythology, in beautiful wearable designs. Only 3 pictured here, but 9 in total! I'm really excited to bring them into the world, and I hope you love them as much as I do. <3
