i agree with the key point here and will add to it that there IS a reward, it’s knowing you did one right thing instead of walking around plagued by the nameless shame that afflicts all men who are determined to live the most frictionless lives possible

Also: it sounds like Columbus gave Toronto permission to speak to Marchenko about an extension. Not sure how final deal will look. The teams discussed other players as Blue Jackets try to alleviate cap crunch. League-wide opening-night cap-compliant roster deadline is 5 pm ET

I genuinely don’t know what else FUS or Nadeau had to do to make the roster. Especially FUS, who was a standout all preseason. The Greensboro goal should’ve sealed the deal on him sticking around.

#CBJ and #Canes win! I know it’s preseason, but there’s a lot for both teams to be excited about, both with “the big club” and the prospects. Good stuff happening on all ends, especially when it comes to seeing the evolution of a system.

Second period of this #Canes game is going… as what I expected. Reminder: it’s preseason, and this game is mostly rookies / AHL guys playing against NHL guys. Feel like the only real takeaways we can get here are on FLA or on Kochetkov (and there’s an argument for the Wolves).

Kat Whetstone @katwhetstone.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Immediate #Canes thoughts: • Kochetkov, Cerrato, and Badinka are the early standouts. • Cerrato in particular is one to watch. Super excited to see what he’ll do with the Wolves this year. • Badinka’s skating looks MUCH better than it did at this time last year. We love growth!
