In bed by 9pm. I am still a little jet lagged, I suppose. Better than 8pm last night though!

You need this story. Trust me.

Also grateful I woke up early and have time to drink some tea before I need to be functional.

Passed out at 8pm last night and slept solidly for 9hrs. I feel rested and I'm grateful because I gotta go to work today. What disasters await?

I am trying to keep occupied and not sit for too long. On top of the jetlag we are just really tired from travel. It is theoretically only 8:30pm to us, so not bed time, but tired nonetheless. Went for a walk and got some caffeine, but it's not helping.

Katie @katieversion2.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

What time is it???? Save me from the impending jetlag. It feels like 6pm. 🫠

I'm at least a little sad we're leaving tomorrow

Katie @katieversion2.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

We both crashed last night. Cane back to the hotel at 6pm and just laid in bed the rest of the evening. I think we needed it though. Today: museums, tomorrow: loch ness.

The thing about Edinburgh is, it's so beautiful that no matter how many photos you take, they will never do it justice.

Just had the best gin ever. I may be a bit drunk. We're having the best time.

Walked into the most local pub ever for a rest stop and it was full of old men. Very much an old boys club.

Cue the mid-travel exhaustion. Not sleeping great and being on the go constantly is hitting me. We wandered around Leith this afternoon and came back to pass out for an hour before our ghost tour.

What kind of bird is this?? Looks similar to a pigeon, but it's not a pigeon. They have regular pigeons here.

Did some shopping, walked part of the Water of Leith walkway, and the Botanical Gardens today. I feel like my legs might fall off. 😂

We visited a Frankenstein themed bar that's actually really cool with just the right amount of cheesi-ness.

Photo of a bar with a bunch of people standing around. A Frankenstein movie plays on a set of screens above the bar.

Landed in Edinburgh. Tired and sweaty. Can't wait to be able to check in to our hotel so we can shower.

Audit week ended at noon today (it went well!). My boss came to us shortly after and told us all to go home. Landed at home around 3 because I had some things to take care of before leaving, went to bed at 3:30 and didn't get out of bed until now. Good start to vacation!

Katie @katieversion2.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I just need to get through the next two days then I'm on vacation. It's an audit week, so it's been weird and tense at times.

Every time I see one of these I want to run immediately to their aid and make sure they're safe and warm and loved. Look at that face!

**** Via DNR They don’t need your food. Feeding wildlife may feel kind, but it can draw animals into neighbourhoods, make them less afraid of people, and increase the risk of conflict or vehicle collisions. Show wildlife some love by keeping your snacks, garbage and fruit trees under control.

On the couch this morning nursing some cramps. I'm so glad I'm dealing with this now and not a week from now when we're traveling.
