That's the first @comicconoakland.com done! Thank you to @katiesaurusrex.bsky.social for sharing space with me, and @justingreenwoodart.bsky.social & @jeffparker.bsky.social for doing Parker/Brothers™. Shout-out to everyone I met. Thank you. I didn't shop much but I got some stuff I'll post later!

It helps if I get the table number right… I’ll be at @comicconoakland.com this Saturday the 9th at table F04. @iamdavidbrothers.com is kindly letting me share some table space. You can visit David on Sunday too, but I will not be there!!! So say hi to me on Saturday!

Digital art has been bumming me out cuz of ai… but I don’t really know what my traditional illustrations would look like anymore, it’s been a really long time. I wanna make things with more of a human touch!

Thank you hehe! I’m a simple gal, I see an ink wash (at least I’m guessing it’s colored inks? Maybe it’s watercolor) sci-fi comic, I buy 😝

I really wanna do some alt covers again, it’s been a while 👀 I think this is the last one I did which was too long ago

When I was freelance I made the majority of my money from illustration work and just barely scraped by. I still overworked myself and it was far more stressful, so I dunno if I would do it again unless I had to

Katie Longua @ TCAF 29B @katiesaurusrex.bsky.social · 22/03/2026

I’m really fortunate that my day job is four days a week. I still do overwork and burn myself out, but I try to be mindful and pace myself. If possible I’ll trade off days where I’m working more casually and days where I’m grinding to get lots done.

I’m kinda still in shock that it happened 😭💕

😭 It was really special, I’m so glad I went through with it. I did consider running away instead several times

I spoke at my old middle/high school over my bday week. It was equally terrifying and awesome. Some students gave me presents at the end which definitely did not make me cry at all 😭

I need all artists to know that using 3D models in your art is not cheating. Those free-to-use 3D models are literally there to make your life easier. Stop being so hard on yourself and just trace that 3D object. You don't need to be able to perfectly draw every object ever from memory!!

Triple Dream Comics will be at the Cartoon Art Museum March 15th 3pm-5pm for a signing and meet & greet for Will Eisner week! We’ll be signing with @nadinetakvorian.bsky.social and @shaenon.bsky.social. We’ve all had books come out recently so come see em! The museum is at 781 Beach Street in SF 💕

It’s a flyer for our event with all the info I shared. There’s also the covers of three graphic novels: Armaveni by Nadine Takvorian, Steam written by Shaenon K. Garrity and illustrated by Emily Holden and Agent Cupcake by Katie Longua (oh that’s me) Mel Hilario and Lauren Davis.

I got too overwhelmed for updates today but ECCC has been lovely, we even met some kids who already read Agent Cupcake and were all excited to see it 😭💕
