There are yak farms in NJ so I was wondering if I could see a yak shaved. I was curious how the metaphor would hold up beyond the Ren & Stimpy reference, but, apparently, yaks are combed and the hair comes out easily.

👋 Web developers 👋 If you have a page where someone may start inputting immediately (a search, a chat app, etc) AND you have modals, popups, or other content that takes focus and may be a bit delayed you need to consider what to do to avoid a user's input being misdirected.

The tomster is out of the bag! EmberFest '25 is coming, and we have the dates, so mark them in your calendar: September 18-19 (Thu-Fri). We also opened early bird ticket sales, so grab a couple while we still have them: emberfest.eu

I've been moved to post on socials ... by a codemod! Ember's template-tag-codemod did a fantastic job moving all my components to template-tag but what _really_ wow'd me is polish provided by the [merge-history](github.com/embroider-bu...) command. #emberjs

A screenshot of an editor showing `git annotate` with history for both the template and JS sides of an Glimmer component now rolled into one file with the template tag authoring format.

In other news… Polaris, the north star, is two billion years old, but only *looks* 54 million. How? It's found the Fountain of Youth: cannibalism! www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-... P.S. Thanks to @desmigeo.bsky.social for suggesting this topic! 🔭 🧪
