Severance's Adam Scott voices the Las Vegas lawyer Lincoln Gumb, fired from his late mother's firm for being too damn boring and attempting a comeback with the help of the street magician Sheila Flambé (Abbot Elementary's Janelle James). The result is surreal, fast-paced and packed with some of the most gloriously idiotic sight gags in animation (and possibly legal) history."

I was reading a book on queer films a few days ago and this Todd Haynes quote has been stuck in my mind

When I interviewed Todd Haynes in 2015, he argued that 'the easier language for legislative agendas is this "born that way" biologically determined idea of sexual orientation, and that's what also fits more neatly into trans issues as well, where there's a sort of essential idea of gender, an essential idea of sexual desire - that we just have to find and embrace and then marry and have kids and blah-blah-blah, whatever. And that isn't queer to me. What interested me so much about the glam era in the early 1970s was that whole vernacular of radical instability around identity and sexual identity. It was fluid. Androgyny was the model. That is unnerving to straights and gays alike, and I think it's easy for the straight world to accept the gay world when everybody is in their solid essential identities. "You just stay over there and I love you for your innate difference to me that will never change." But I think sexuality, just the stuff of being human, is not clean and tidy, and there's this fear of the word "choice", which is something that conservatives use or that the Left use against conservatives - that we've chosen the lifestyle. The Left wanna say, or gay communities wanna say: "No, there was no choice in the matter."'
