Lots of comments on this now & I don’t know what’s worse, the ones who misunderstand biphasic sleep & think we did it wrong because we didn’t get up in the middle of the pitch black freezing night to do a few hours work, or the ones who are convinced we are eating potatoes. They are TURNIPS!!!

When my daughter was a baby I found some pink and white striped cotton and thought ‘How lovely! I will buy some and one day she can go to #WorldBookDay as Milly Molly Mandy!’ Then when she was old enough she was like, ‘No way. I’m going as The Illustrated Mum.’ Lots of temporary tattoos. Was fab.

So true! It’s why it’s so nice learning a new historical skill (eg brewing) right from the start because I can afford a whole pile of books. Whereas when you get really niche it needs to be a very specific date and place and the books are £250 if there are even any copies available.
