You text your friends: Have you seen the moon?
They say they have but you don't believe them.
They are tucked into their beds, watching Jeremy Allen White on the television.
Have you seen the moon? you ask your husband. It's like he doesn't hear you so you parade around the room, spray-tanned and irreplaceable.
No one ever listens because you're always talking.
Write this down, a note to self:
If god had wanted sheep, she wouldn't have made us full of longing.
