Teen 2 has been decorating for Halloween. Why does it feel like I’m in the start of a horror movie? #speirgorm
Old fashioned and scary doll lying on a blue tablecloth. She is bedraggled and very dirty. One arm lies separate from the body and under the other arm is a sheet of green paper with the words “do not move” Close up of scary looking doll - her dress is dirty, the red polish on her nails is chipped and worn looking Close up of doll’s arm with a piece of green paper with the words “do not move” under it

Reading this (for book club). I recognize the words as (mostly) English but none of it makes any sense to me. I never read fantasy and now I know why. Not sure I’ll be finishing this one #booksky

This is one of my favourites. Surprisingly modern for a poem written in 1920. Not sure it’s a love poem though. More a loss poem.

I am always amused by The Remarkables in NZ. For some reason I always imagine a slightly dour Scottish explorer seeing them and saying “yes quite remarkable”.

This one 💔
Poem by e e Cummings

it may not always be so
it may not always be so; and i say that if your lips, which i have loved, should touch anothers, and your dear strong fingers clutch his heart, as mine in time not far away; if on another's face your sweet hair lay in such a silence as i know, or such great writhing words as, uttering overmuch, stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;
if this should be, i say if this should be — you of my heart, send me a little word; that i may go unto him, and take his hands, saying, Accept all happiness from me.
Then shall i turn my face, and hear one bird sing terribly afar in the lost lands.

Didn’t love this book. Felt a bit too much like a screenplay and very plot driven rather than character driven. Never really empathized with the main protagonist. The ending did come as a kick in the teeth. #booksky
