A soup that should only be made in gallons. You make a small batch and you always say ‘that was good why didn’t I make more of it’

Aha well done. When daughter’s boyfriend, now future son in law and father of our grandson, came to stay with us for a couple of weeks in 2020 that turned into months. Sewing bee was on “I’m not watching this” he said. Week 3 he knows all the contestants names and had his favourite to win.

Me too had a look at the garden today. Medium sized 1970s estate garden on edge of rural area. I have planted in 12 mths pear, apple, cherry, hazel, plum and removed ivy from a hawthorn I found in the hedge. With a bit of a switch round i have room for another tree.

Just watching BBC News h th he men involved have been released on bail. Unusual for a suspected terrorist attack and police say they’re not ruling out another foreign state being involved. So not a wild conspiracy theory.

It is peculiar that people in this country will say you get what you pay for but have an inability to apply this to the NHS and social care.

I find it interesting that whilst living in a foraging hotspot that is north Wiltshire, just inside the Cotswolds, that my house isn’t pictured. Could it be because it’s on a 1970s estate and isn’t thatched thus making living in a foraging hotspot completely affordable. It’s all a load of twaddle.

They have now changed the headline but the caption says he appeared to slash a boat. I’m sure when the police arrested him they didn’t say ‘hey mate it appears you slashed a boat’

Yet you seem to report everything he says as important. So if he’s an irrelevant irritant why do you need to report everything he says?

He seems to be unaware that ‘Britain’ did pay reparations - to the slave owners until 2015.

But the British govt were happy to pay reparations to former slave owners. When I say British govt it was actually tax payers, working class tax payers including I expect descendants of former slaves right upto 2015.

Yummy. I made my first soup of autumn this morning. Left over chicken carcass in the pressure cooker for stock. Then added veg, chicken and noodles to the stock. He’s on late shifts this week so has one healthy meal today.

‘Britain’s’ involvement was they allowed it and gave it legality therefore being entirely complicit. Lilico is as described.

I had this exact conversation with my husband a couple of weeks ago. My brain never switches off it’s exhausting, anxiety. The knitting and sewing help as a calming device.

Our dog Fred is a lunatic most of the time. But when the our grandchild is here a different dog. When grandchild stays over night every time he makes a noise or moves in the night Fred has to go and check he’s ok. Sticks his head in the spare room quick sniff of the cot then settles down again.

I’d just got home from my p/t job. Husband had the radio on and said there’s something on about a plane crash in New York. Switched the tv on to see the second plane hit the tower.

I’m not sure who they’re going to prosecute as ‘asylum seekers’ are housed under govt contract. It is illegal to rent accommodation to those who have not had their application processed. I assume they’ll be prosecuting all private landlords who house anyone who then commits a crime.

Privatisation, de industrialisation and Thatcherism. Plus other stuff that happened in the 1980s but apparently we shouldn’t be blaming Thatcher for Thatcherism. As someone who was in their 20s in the 1980s and lived in the north west I will continue to blame Thatcher for those things.

Nearby there is an old RAF site it’s been abandoned for decades. There are now proposals to use the site for housing. It’s on the edge of green belt. The developer has to leave a bat corridor and can’t build on all of the site bcs of Box tunnel. The only problem, more 3/4 bed commuter houses.

All US beef is banned in the UK and Europe. Has been for years even before Trump. ‘U.S. beef and pork producers often use ractopamine, a drug that promotes lean muscle growth in animals. The UK bans this additive because of concerns about heart rate and health risks.’

I’m from Wigan half way between both, that has its own special accent. Wigan is 6 miles from a town called St Helens both those places have completely different accents.

Actually depends where in the British Isles you’re from. I’m north of England where Bath is pronounced with a as in cat. I now live close to Bath where it’s pronounced Barth. Accents, pronunciations and use of words are very localised here and in some regions can vary from town to town.

You just reminded me of my Canadian uncle Ron, an English teacher. Many many years ago when I visited we travelled over the border from Ontario. His reaction on seeing a sign ‘…. is not alowed’ 😂 he spent the rest off the day complaining about US spellings.

I’m in Wiltshire we had no rain for over 2 months and days of over 30C (highest being 38C) and hovering around it with night time temps sometimes in the 20s. We’ve had rain the past few nights and it is cooler but certainly still summer around 24C today
