LA is full of ghosts.

Sujin knows this better than anyone. Her family are mudangs, shamans who guide ghosts to the underworld. But Sujin has a new soul, in danger of being sucked into the past lives of any spirit she touches, so she’s forbidden to train.

Daniel may be a ghost, but he isn’t actually dead. When Sujin tries to help him, she’s launched into his memories–including one of her missing father.

Rami hunts wayward spirits for Sujin’s family, with no questions asked about her haunted past. It would be perfect, save for Seon, an annoying reaper trapped in the world of the living, who constantly crashes her hunts.

When spirits across the city begin to disappear, the four collide. Together, they must unravel the mystery and face their pasts–or be lost to the underworld forever…

Happy AANHPI Heritage Month! Might I interest you in my recently released YA fantasy romance based on Korean mythology and manhwas? #aanhpiheritagemonth #aapihm www.katchowrites.com/gods-comics
Seventeen-year-old junior class vice president Grace Bak has her entire future all mapped out. With plans to become a doctor like both her parents, Grace has her sights set on Boston University's intensive science summer program--which will put her on the fast track to medical school.
When she's not at school or studying, Grace writes and illustrates her webcomic, Sun God, inspired by the Korean myth of Haemosu about two teenage gods trapped in human form who are cursed to live in the modern world, and perhaps worst of all, to attend public high school. She started the comic as a way to honor her grandmother who used to tell her all the old myths before she died. Grace never expected the comic to go viral, but it has, and she's still spinning from the excitement of having thousands of readers. But somehow the power of all those readers has conjured the real Haemosu and now it's up to Grace to get him back to his own realm.

As Grace and Hae try to figure out a way for Hae to return home, the two become close. Hae challenges everything Grace has ever believed about herself even making her braver in the face of her near-crippling anxiety. Hae learns he is fallible, after all and what it means to sacrifice for those you love.

But Hae isn't the only god to find themselves suddenly trapped in the mortal realm and now a battle is on the horizon. Grace and Hae fight side by side, but in the end, will their burgeoning love keep them together or tear them apart?

A fast-paced romantasy rooted in Korean mythology...the fantasy elements shine... realistic themes of grief, anxiety, and micro-aggressions...dealt with in a powerful way." - school library journal
God's & comics release 4/21/2026A fast-paced romantasy rooted in Korean mythology. From serving as junior class vice president to being involved in endless extracurriculars, Grace Bak, 17, feels like she must do it all to get into Boston University’s prestigious pre-medical program. Her only reprieve is working on her viralwebcomic Sun God, a story about two Korean gods, Haemosu and Yuhwa, who are cursed to live as high school students. For Grace, the comic began as a way to honor her late grandmother’s memory and their Korean culture. But when the myths come to life, Grace is tasked with helping Haemosu, the sun god, return to his realm and defeat Habaek, the water god, who is terrorizing the city. The secondary characters, including the goddess Yuhwa and Grace’s best friend Zoe, feel fleshed out and add to the overall worldbuilding. Though the fantasy elements shine, the novel deals with realistic themes of grief, anxiety, and microaggressions in a powerful way. The ending wraps up nicely, both in terms of plot resolutions and romance. VERDICT An action-packed, Korean-mythology inspired fantasy that balances elements of high school woes; this will be popular where Cho’s books are already a hit." -- School Library Journal

BTS's Aliens lyrics: "Kim Gu (seonsaengnim) tell me how you feel" Kim Gu, an independence activist, said "The only thing that I desire in infinite quantity is the power of a highly-developed culture...power of culture both makes ourselves happy and gives happiness to others." #bts #arirangbts
I want our nation to become the most beautiful nation in the world.. I do not want our nation to become the richest and powerful nation in the world. Because I have felt the pain of being invaded by another nation. I do not want my nation to invade others. It is sufficient that our wealth is such that it makes our lives abundant and our military strength such that it is able to repel others' invasion. The only thing that I desire in infinite quantity is the power of a highly-developed culture. This is because the power of culture both makes ourselves happy and gives happiness to others.

What is lacking in humanity of today is neither military force nor economic power. Although the power of natural sciences is infinitely to be desired. the level of scientific progress achieved so far today is already sufficient to enable the entire human race to live comfortably. The root reason for humanity's unhappiness today is that people lack humanity, justice, compassion and love. If the mind of humanity is developed in this positive direction, mankind's present material capacity will be enough to enable all two billion of the world's population to live in comfort. The only thing that can improve the mind of humankind is culture and civilization.

I do not desire that our nation become a nation that imitates others. Rather, I desire that it become a nation that becomes the origin, the goal, and the model of this highly-developed and novel culture. I desire that a true world peace is fulfilled in, and because of, our nation. I believe that this is the very humanitarian ideal of Dan-gun,108 our national founding father.

As always, be safe and know your rights #nokingsday
Know your protest rights
1. you don't need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don't need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you're not obstructing traffic or access to buildings.
2. When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police.
3. If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries.
4. If you get stopped by the police, ask if you're free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away.
5. If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don't sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present.
6. If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement office at a protest, you have the right to remain silent or to tell them that you'll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney-- no matter your citizenship or immigration status

For "Twilight" fans who love K-Dramas, Cho's romantic fantasy set in Seoul is an addictive read. Gu Miyoung is a nine tailed fox who feeds on the gi, or life energy, of evil men -- a source of unlimited nourishment. Her existence is lonely, with only her mother as a companion. But one night, she stops a goblin from killing a human, a laid back gamer named Ahn Jihoon. When she loses her fox bead and Jihoon sees her nine tailed form, their lives become intertwined -- with shared dreams, deadly secrets, forbidden attraction and grave danger

THIS is why I'm so proud that the creative team behind #kpopdemonhunters were largely Korean diaspora. bc we're often told we're not "Korean enough" to tell our own cultural stories (while being told we're not American/etc enough either), which isn't true Our interpretation of our culture IS valid!

6. if you're at home, you do not have to open the door. ice agents may not enter unless they have a warrant signed by a judge (have them slip it under the door). if they force their way in, do not resist, but you can remain silent.

Stay safe everyone. And know your rights www.aclu.org/know-your-ri...
Know Your Protest Rights:
1. You don't need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don't need a permit to march in the streets along sidewalks, as long as you're not obstructing traffic or access to buildings.
6. If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement officer at a protest, you have the right to remain silent to tell them that you'll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney -- no matter your citizenship or immigration status.

School Library Journal called Wish Upon a K-Star readable and charming with relatable characters! 🫰🌟 #booksky #bookreview
A readable, charming, drama-filled story with relatable characters, this book will appeal to readers who like romance and K-pop combined into one fun tale.
- school library journal The story is deeply embedded in K-pop culture, and also in the universal confusion of young adulthood. Love, hate, wanting to please others, wanting to just be themselves; this romance, mystery, and coming-of-age story will resonate with young people interested in the world of K-pop stardom.
VERDICT A readable, charming, drama-filled story with relatable characters, this book will appeal to readers who like romance and K-pop combined into one fun tale.
