I don't listen to live radio, but I could not avoid Shaboozy's "A Bar Song" or Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" or Beyonce's "Texas Hold 'Em" or Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" when I was out in gen pop (stores, cars, etc). I have not heard "Choosin' Texas" at all. Not a flex, just a fact!

An extreme example, but Nazi gas chambers were designed & engineered by the German firm Tofp and Sohne. They also designed the high-capacity ventilation & exhaust systems at Auschwitz-Birkenau. For the 1st Intro to Lit Study class, I asked students to interpret the meaning of Raymond Carver's "Popular Mechanics." After they wrote that down, I asked them to think about how their personal experience influenced their interpretation. I was NOT prepared to hear students loudly say, "oh shit"
