Opened the homebrew Black Forest Cherry Sour. The most interesting cherry sour so far. Tastes like Murphy's Irish Stout with cherry juice. Very nice.

Anti-ship missiles are being launched at Kyiv on a Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the American people for making this possible, as your senile motherfucker in charge just struck a lovely deal with putin. Hope your diesel prices are more comfy now. 😘

Pen and watercolor

Cowboys again. This time one of our boys has lost his boots. Standing in a field of long grass the cowboy points towards the ground and shouts back to his colleague, “Lil bone people got muh boots.” This makes no sense to the other cowboy who sits atop his horse away from the action. He responds, “Lil wut?” Sure enough in the foreground we see a squad of little bone people scampering through the grass with the stolen cowboy boots. They’re thrilled. How the bone people got the boots off the cowboy is unclear.

Artist’s note: I tend to draw drawings from the same perspective (straight on) most of the time. This idea came about when I was goofin around trying to draw a character from a lower angle. I like that the story unfolds with the foreground, mid-ground, and background all working together. There’s a draft of this one included in the Spooky Pants book. Coming out next week!

Opened my homebrew thematic beer. "Power Word: Kill": Sweet release of death with no saving throw. 8%, 160 IBU. Overwhelming bitterness both at the front and in aftertaste, lingering for minutes.

Set 10L of apple juice to ferment into what could possibly become 3 microbatches of homebrew cider. Yeast: M02, S-04, EC-1118.

@basilsorbet.bsky.social Пані, привіти.

Did Oleshky ever make it into international news at any point? Like, at least once or twice? I have to make it very clear to everyone who reads me: RUSSIANS ARE CURRENTLY STARVING PEOPLE TO DEATH in occupied Kherson Oblast, as in EVERYONE who is still left in Oleshky. And it's not on your news.

Since brewing a lot of malts did not work so well last time, I am resorting to dirty tricks to make a strong beer: adding sugar, and later sugar + champagne yeast. #BrewDay

Bottled my homebrew Illithid Empire v2 beer. Bottling pump sucked, or rather, it did not suck well. Filtering free-floating dryhops with a nylon sock did not work too well. ⅙ volume lost.

2 weeks of bottle conditioning (lighter beer) I can wait. Otherwise, beer tastes more raw. 1 full week of fridge, not so much.

I understand that buying a huge sack of raw grain and malting it is a thing. Also, roasting malt is a thing. But these 2 processes seem less fun to do. I don't know where to get raw grain even. I don't know any grain farmers.
